Large map lagg...need help!

Large map lagg...need help!

Hey everybody, u can say im new to SP cuz I only had 0.8 but i have this problem were when i play on a big map my game lags extreamly and i cant even ply :-(

can anyone help...

When I load kashan, I get about 4 fps on the initial spawn screen, but after spawn I maintain around 40-60 (max due to vsync) the whole time.

Maybe its the issue here? I have no idea what causes the initial lag, but it disappears when I spawn.

Hey i have had a long history of that mate, i have done a few things to fix it could be any one of them, one was to update my graphics drivers, go to the main site and update if you need to.
Another is to lower Texture settings, i used to get lag on Ramiel (no surprise there) then put textures to medium and it worked.
Make sure there are no conflicts with firewalls and what not.
Other than that i dont know, some people have found increasing their graphics settings a bit can actualy help there FPS. Try all mate.

Im getting the same problem. Initial lag is horrifying. But it lightens up after, but not by much i haven't checked fps but the lag also make the game unplayable. Ive lowered all my graphics, im dont know what to do.

I've got the same sometimes but I've also encountered something even more unplayable...

...random "lags" during game when my FPS drop to 1 fps (!) for random period of time.

After couple testings I've noticed it may be caused by too many bots shooting at the same time :| (In my settings, 31 bots caused it.... after decreaseing it to 21 bots there was no problem)

Yeah ive kinda noticed that problem too. I decreased my bots from 48 to forty, but on some maps its just too much lag. But why does it lag so much in Just PR? I played vBF2 SP and i had all medium graphics (I run all low on PR SP now, still lags) and i have about 54 bots. Why does PRSP lag so much?

The quick and dirty answer? Cuz it's not vBF2! :mrgreen:

Seriously, are u playing solo or co-op with a bunch of mates? The reason I ask: I myself don't have the most up-to-date rig--an old AMD Athlon 64, running at 2.4 ghz, 2 gigs Corsair DDR2 (I think), and NVidia 9600 GT w/ 1gig. I don't have any lag playing solo w/ 48 bots. We testers, when testing or just playing, occasionally get some lag playing coop, but we figure that's a prob w/ Hamachi.

Wish I had a good answer for u Specter.

Yeah lol thanks. But then why isn't it laggin as much on normal BF2 with even more bots and higher graphics?

PR maps have far more statics, textures etc.. thus they use more memory.

just look at vanilla maps, they are quite barren and empty compared to PR. :-)

Hrm...not to be a nit-picker, but the CPU doesn't decide anything...the program itself does. The CPU issues the instructions to the various devices, video, sound, etc., in order to carry out the "decisions" the program makes to run the game. But your point is taken--with 48 bots, that's a lot of instructions that the CPU has to sort out and then send out in an organized manner.

Ya I'm having some EXTREME lag on single player. Its completely unplayable. It doesn't matter how many bots I have on the server or how big of a map, it still lags horribly bad.

My system specs:

AMD Athlon 3200+ 2.0Ghz, Single Core
2048mb DDR2 667Mhz
Onboard Nvidia Geforce 8200a, 512mb Shared
45gb free hard drive space

It shouldn't be my hardware cause I run PR multiplayer just fine most the time.
I could put more RAM in my PC, 4gb, but I took it out cause I can only get 256 megs of shared memory with it in and the game seems to run faster for me with the 2 gigs.

Help :(
