I would be interested in hearing some of the tactics you guys use for flying the choppers
Such as what you do at the start when the enemy attack chopper threat is high
Favourable hunting grounds and what heights positoning you use

Are you talking about the apache or the attack LB???

For the Apache, I would say the best way is to work with the team, stay behind cover (e.g. the mountains) and only rise up to fire a hellfire when the troops on the ground confirmed the target lazed, then go back into cover again. IMHO, never stay in the open or too high up for too long, you would probably get Hat-ed or AA-ed. For the cannon and hydras, i would leave them for close encounters,self-defense and low altitude close air support. Same thing with the Havoc.
As for the LB, i would not comment too much as i have never piloted a LB in an actual kashan AAS map, but i figure flying close air support in the villages or outposts would be a good thing, not the bunkers though (i have no idea why, but its an bad idea). And another thing would be to fly low and not high up in the sky. (unless you use it as an recon vehicle, or else low altitude would be the best)
Well, thats what i have to say, hope that helps
EDIT: regarding the enemy chopper threat, i would say to ask the people who requested CAS to ensure there is no AA or enemy chopper threat in that particular area. likewise, they could tell you where the chopper is and you can take it out with your 2 stinger missiles onboard ( with the apache and Havoc only )

Have 4 guys ready to jump in the attack helos when they spawn at main, go to around 800 altitude, and start searching for the enemy choppers. This can take some time and, it could also go verry fast, but if your team needs you to take out a convoy of tanks in the mean time you will have to do it of corse.
Once you have taken down bouth choppers or you know they are down, you start searching for ground targets, work with ur team, and keep checking your map to see if any armour or inf from ur own squad is going down
I suggest you fly high on kashan tho..

My pilot and I tend to cruise high up, then once a target is lazed, pounce and take it out. Failure, I know that staying low behind one of the the mountain ranges provides good cover. But hovering there for 5-10 min waiting for a target to get lazed is far too long. A tank could easily flank or sneak up in a unwatched area and have one swipe at you, most likely reducing you to a pile of Apache parts.
Keep it random and only show your face when armor is called in. Once that happens, ask for any AA locations and start a run in on the target. In the meantime we usually keep a random untraceable path up above the layer of clouds and do flips and stuff, until we notice the ground creeping up and adjust height.
Attacking the enemy Attack Chopper on the other side is often a challenge. Because most of the time the angle of attack is at point blank, (no elevation change) the air-air stingers are very effective. If at anytime you confront a enemy AH, try to gain some altitude. The other chopper will try to get lock on you by tilting back. As he does this he is thrown in reverse and looses altitude. At this time the gunner can light him up with 30mm, and at least keep track of where the next move is. I believe making a circle around him is also effective since the missile will have to travel in a arc while you spin around him. When to flare is also key, but I don't handle that.
If you ever come upon a hovering AH undisturbed, just hellfire him, no warning, no time. Just Boom! The pilot should try to keep his reticule off of it to discourage lock and giving him a tone.
5:14 of Bolt from the Blue part 2 has a good example of a helicopter hellfire kill. It seems like it would be a tricky shot but its no biggie if your pilot can hold er' steady for a few seconds.

I like to put my helicopter in a dive right towards the enemy armor then not pull out.
In all seriousness I liked to fly real low then pop out and fire a shot then run away back to base.

Fly reaaaaaally high, dive in on targets spotted, fly about 1000-1200 meters at all times (to avoid AA/enemy helis), flare on dives, RTB regularly.
But that's assuming you have a good team on mumble, making you interdependant of each other
If not, fly high (1000-1200) with enemy helis active, make notes of when they'll spawn, learn their tactics, and then fear the BMPs and Bradleys the most since you should be able to easily evade all SAMs with flares and dropping behind cover to RTB.
Works every time.
