Me and a m8 was flying the cobra at Muttrah, we did a quick run and was about to return to the carrier when a AA missile caught us. The cobra started failing, and i took the decision to do an emergency landing, and successfully crash-landed in the face of an enemy squad!

We crash-landed in the docks, by an enemy firebase, we ran as hell to the north, and took massive fire but both of us only got hit once, we met at a corner, patched up and smoked our escape and got safely evacuated by a friendly APC at the repair station.

Also a little note here: Since the crash-landings will be more common the Pilots should at least be armed with either a knife or a pistol, cause me and my m8 had to run for our lives when we landed in the face of the enemy

I must agree with you on the weapon thing, i've had several crash landings now where such even just a knife would have been quite handy. Nice little AAR though, crash landings are a blast.

They Dev's disarmed pilots for this very reason, to make them run

on you map, it looked like you took the worst route possible getting out of town, flying right over hostile turf.

Nice story. Though I thought only transport choppers can crash land, not attack choppers. Must have been epic to be the MEC squad seeing that cobra crash right in front of them. It was hell nice of that APC to take you back ALL THE WAY to the carrier.

I crash laneded on Archer once and it was next to a road, a few seconds later 5 humvee's came round the corner with everyone on mumble, they gave me a lift back to base.

Agreed. wasnt the smartest thing to go flying there when the enemy is setting up fb's or already set them up.

Nice story tho! And I dont think we need weapons anymore. If you had them, you where probably killed as you where going to return fire and even trying to engage them. We'd also see the pilot airborne assault squads again.

yeah, you guys might be right about the attack route, but we had no idea that the enemy were at the docks xD

lol, should have stayed in the gunner seat and gunned them down as you landed, unless the cannon locked up. Yea I have seen the Cobra crash land a few times.

Agree with zomby that you probably would have died returning fire, and not even get close with a knife. Some fancy animation with the Unarmed position would be neato, kinda like the new civi arms. but would probably be low priority.
