My old Geforce 7900 GS 256mb finally died.

What should I get to replace it? The most demanding game I'll play on it will ARMA 2 easily, and possibly OFP: DR (depending on how that turns out), as well as ROHOS of course (which I'm guessing won't be as demanding as ARMA 2).

I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money, but get something that will allow me to run ARMA 2/ROHOS at pretty high settings with a lot of units going around.

Haven't been keeping up with hardware developments recently so really have no idea.

Also, I have 2 gigs of ram right now, would I be wise to add another 2 or is 8 necessary yet?

Finally my processor is a Intel Conroe 6400, 2.13, 2M, Core Duo, should I upgrade this or is it still pretty good?

I'd say upgrade to a HD 4870 or 90 and get an E8x00 (if your mb supports it)

does your mobo support Crossfire or SLI?

Did you build your computer or was it a brand like Dell or something? I would definitely look at mobo specs before updating the CPU. You may consider a new CPU, but my guess is most of the taxing will be on the GPU. Fairly good CPUs are pretty cheap now with i7s on the scene. 4870s and 260s are pretty cheap as well and will give you a nice boost from a 7900. My 8800 GT is lacking for ARMA 2 which is dissapointing...considered getting a 260 but I think some serious stuff is about to come down the drain from nVidia...

Now granted these things (GT300 series) will probably cost a lot it will blow the GT200 series out of the water. They are rumored to hit in a few months, so if you can hold off, things should drop in price again shortly.

How do I tell if it supports crossfire? What is that?

It was a Dell XPS 410... I haven't added anything to it yet.

more than likely it doesn't. But it does have a PCIe slot. So really. for the best bag for the buck is 4870 or a GTX 260. New cards wont be out til the fall. And every gamer needs a quick upgrade.

I know this sounds crazy but try this. I had a friend do it and it fixed his card im not shitting you. Also check youtube there are more videos of this working.

To reach those cards full potential he would have to overclock the shit out of that E6400 get it to atleast 3.0ghz.
