[Weapon] Dragunov SVD

Post by -kodiak- »

Sometimes during production things may need to be redone and the hours spent on a model or texture are thrown out the window almost immediately. That was the case for the original SVD model I created. It was good, but not good enough for PR standards. But it had potential so I was given the task to remake the SVD adding more detail where needed and a list of things needed to be changed before it was worthy.

This is a WIP of the new improved Russian SVD I'm in the process of creating. I was pretty much told to go nuts on this model and so I did. There is faaaar more modeling detail on this SVD than the previous. Nosferatu has guided me through this weapon from almost the beginning this time. Give that guy props, he knows his stuff.

HangMan: BF2 Editor, it has very strict limitations memory wise, and crashes all the time. Its like a girl. Treat it with respect and take it slow and you'll get places. Rush and get ahead of yourself and it will turn around and punch you in the mouth

I see the thread title is suffering from RAS :p

Still looks pretty damn nice.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

What was the problem with the last one, though? Specifically, I mean.

I believe from a MA point of view it wasn't accurate to the real life SVD.

Ok, I see, I thought it was something like an optimisation problem or something like that :D
