[AAR] Light roleplaying? ;)
So I was ona random server I joined the other night, (fellujah(sp?))and people were constantly on the global chat saying things like 'death to america' and when we blew up their cache, 'you may blow up our cache, but you will never blow up our moral!'
typical usa response: 'dude stfu' and 'l2insurgent'
Apperently this is a regular thing when and if people use global text chat.
This game is so much more fun than it used to be a while back, I love the recent UAV

I usually respond by either A. Shooting their heads off with my sniper or B. Getting every member of my squad to pour fire on a building while another squad advances in

Have any of you considered the fact that many players are actually active in the military and/or have served abroad? Yelling stuff like "Death to America" and "Allahu Ackbar" can be really touchy for some people.
Also, it's just more endless spam that I hate reading.

No, it's just fun to spam those phrases in chat. If there are people getting touched by it too hard, they probably shouldn't be playing PR at all and visit a good Psychiatrist (spelling?).

This is what I love about PR - killing a US SAW gunner then saying "Thanks for the SAW ALLAH U AKBARRRRR!!!!!!"
If you make broad comments like "Death to the Infidels or Death to Americans" its absolutely fine with me as long as its in context with the map (ie no "Death to all Jews"). Anyone who has a problem with this can eat 7.62 ak rounds cause there wimps!

Meh, I still find it rather annoying when the mumble spam turns into a fistfight over FCP with everyone yelling

People who shout 'ALLAHU AKBAR' at the end of the round over mumble really piss me off, I mean what the hell are they doing? It's a bloody game. Not to mention they could be seen as insulting islam, and that's never a good idea.

It's not of my concern if I "insult" any kind of religion. It's just not my problem. How people can be insulted by laughing about their imaginary boss is a riddle for me. Either they stick to believe their fairytales, so it's impossible to insult them, or they don't really believe in it and their "faith" isn't worth ****.
As long as swearing doesn't get personal, it should be ignored or laughed about.

ok. Here's the thing: right now, you have disrespected all religions in a very VERY heavy way. Imaginary bosses? tell that to someone that doesn't have a big sense of humor. Dude, I'm catholic and I don't know if I should laugh at you or not. I'm not offended, but a lot of people might fell offended.Shredhead99 wrote:It's not of my concern if I "insult" any kind of religion. It's just not my problem. I'm a Muslim and I'm not at all bothered when people say Allah O kabar. Saying Allah O kabar means your embracing god and Islam I know its just a game and sometimes I participate in the stereotypes However when people insult the the Quran and the prophet Muhammad than things get ugly.. Guys need to know where to draw the line mates, just make sure your not offending anyone.

Okay, let's stop at this point, it's not a discussion we should have here. I disrespect all religion all day, so I was typing a bit too fast what I think about the topic. I should have referred to the "Allahu akhbar" thing more.goguapsy wrote:ok. Here's the thing: right now, you have disrespected all religions in a very VERY heavy way. I would never start a discussion such as this ingame, and I wouldn't try to offend religious people with mockery ingame. But riding some clichees is just fun, and noone should be offended by it.

I like saying the Shahadah to my squadmates while we're riding through the streets of Basra in a technical, and then typing it on Global Chat. I also frequently yell Allahu Akbar whenever a car bomb or suicide bomb attack occurs.
As for the "touchiness" of those phrases, I mean, isn't it touchy enough that they're playing a game based on a war still in progress?

I totally agree with you. If people can make political statements and yell "Death to Americans" or "DEMOCRATS SUCK" then I can insult religion.Shredhead99 wrote:It's not of my concern if I "insult" any kind of religion. Next time you're online, we need to do that.Irish Freedom wrote:I like saying the Shahadah to my squadmates while we're riding through the streets of Basra in a technical, and then typing it on Global Chat. I also frequently yell Allahu Akbar whenever a car bomb or suicide bomb attack occurs.

It's fun to sing the Carbomb Jihad song on voip and Mumble before you detonate it.
I was in a squad once where we all got in the transport car, I turned on the radio, and we drove around a Stryker shooting it with Ak's and yelling "Allahu Akbar!"
He killed us, of course, but it was fun.
