0.87 wont install

i have downloaded the core and map files and when i go to install the core files it gets to setup and thencomes up with a message saying.

You must have 0.87 installed to install the single player, would you like to go to the download page?

but i already have 0.87 installed, can anyone help?

yeah i got 1.5 and both core and levels of 0.87, i play the multiplayer all the time

Creepin, and other friends, I do not have .86 installed, nor did I install BF2 1.5 update (although I've downloaded and stored both). In fact, my path reads C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr_sp_08

Can I just install .87 core and then .87 levels, and be okay with that?

I reinstalled PR, still the same message. I used the PR downloader, might that have something to do with it?

yeah im using the pr downloader as well, so that might be the problem

if it is il download the core and level files instead, so il have to wait till tomorrow to see if it works since it only seems to let me download at 80 kbps for some stupid reason when i have 11mb download speed

alright its working now, i uninstalled project reality, downloaded the core and map files for mp 0.87 from moddb and installed it all and then ti installing the singl payer and its working now thanks.

i think it just doesnt recognise the pr downloader or something

i never used pr downloader, do you have to run a setup of some sorts with it?

either way, it's good to hear that you problem is resolved..

nah with the pr downloader you just click run and its downloads all the pr files in one go and installs them as it goes i think, so its alot easier and quicker

and yeah im really happy now i can play some sp

OMG, got the same problem. Yes, I use PRDownloader and Im not gonna waste my traffic on the same thing (redownloading core+levels). Could devs tell us the registry checks performed during install of SP? So we can fix it manually.

its probably best to re-download the core and levels because i had the same problem when trying to patch 0.85 to 0.86 and again with 0.86 to 0.87 and i was using the pr downloader for both of them

Make sure mods/pr/readme/version/levels.087 exists, else, just make a file called that (new text document, rename it).

Huzzah! It worked! Just make sure the extension is .087 and not .txt when you save it.
