I see how to render well in New Zealand drives on the left ? In your own version of the steering wheel on the opposite side than us in europe custom...

seems that this vehicle will have a nice potential ... is only 12.7, 7.62 / 5.56 machine guns ?

That will be an awesome vehicle and will go great with my NZDF map.

Excellent work. Can't wait to see it in game. Pinzgauers are one of my favorite military vehicles.

on the front of the model is a tow cable holder? maybe thats worth cutting out like in the picture to save polys for elsewhere?

nice, i dont know if is the camera angle, but seems to me that body its too short for the wheel size, the front its too high and the steel frame on the back its too long.

are you using blueprints or only pitures?

That's a sweet looking vehicle. I agree with salmonella, your render looks short. It might just be the angle tho, hard to tell from one pic

I'm only modelling from various pictures I can find, not a common vehicle it may seem.

The only side views I can find are of other varients of Pinzgauer trucks, so I have nothing accurate to work with.

Any updates frenzy? I just found out that the brits use the pinz too :D This could make it to PR faster than we originally thought!

And yes i am thinking out loud to keep the community in the loop

Working only with pics is pretty hard to be accurate, there's a techinique that I can't remember the name, used in CG to recreate ambients based on photos. I can't find any tut but its somethng like these

Image

create a Image plane ( or whatever its called on your preffered 3d program), then a new camera, adjust the camera angle and focal lentgh until you match the grid with any reference plane on your image.

lock the movement on this camera, and you can use it to check the proportions

Hi,

Just thought I may be able to assist you on this Pinzgauer project, you see I work for the company that 'used' to build them we only support the vehicle now ( worked on Pinzgauers for over 10 years now!!!).. alas its a great truck but no longer in production. The UK has ~1,500 vehicles and the NZ Army has 321 (various variants) anyway if you need any data to assit your model I am more than happy to help..

The steering wheel seems to be on the wrong side compared to the RL pic

Or does it even matter on this vehicle?

Here in NZ we have our drivers on the right side of the car, the opposite to what you have in America ;)

Well said. This is the case for 90% of the NZDF vehicles as we like them to be road legal without requiring new licenses for drivers.

He must have lost his glasses when he made it like that. Almost the rest of the world drives on the other side, silly Brits/ Kiwi's/ Aussie's. ;-) (?, not sure about Aussies)
