[WEAPON] M60 7.62x51mm GPMG
alright folks, to keep up the pressure on the development I decided to start a new project, my first weapon.
It will be the M60 7.62 General Purpose Machine Gun, and will be used by FARC forces.
I'll make a handheld version(m60) and one for trucks and static placement(m60e2)

Luckily for me, this legendary weapon have great amount of references like this one
so the modeling shouldn't be so hard.
I just got started yesterday, I've made the rear sight, some sort of cover, barrel and the part of the feed system that will be shown on the reload animation
before someone asks I know that EOD mod has a M60 too, but I checked the model, and I don’t think it meets the PR standard.
Appreciate opinions mainly about the mechanisms and proportions, since I have no expercience on weapons neither precise blueprints.

I agree with EoD stuff, it all really isnt that good, I mean one rifle has no smoothing at all!!!!!
Great start, I must say I've always been a fan of the Pig since Soldier of Fortune II and Delta Force

I swear I searched the whole forum, and found nothing about it.DrugKoala wrote:I'd swear to my *** that someone is making the M60/M240B, I think Katarn, but I might be wrong...
And they are completely differents MGs, the M240 is the "sucessor" of M60

humn, don't know, I think its a illusion cause it without the foregrip, see in the next pics it doesn't look so long
update.
added bipod
added stock
added that piece that hold the 2 barrels(!?) together
added kind of operatin system, inside the receiver
added that thing you grab to lift it up
added muzzle brake
adjusted the bevel of the top cover

Rambo would be proud
do you have any idea what the weapons gonna sound like? is it gonna be similar to the EOD m60?

add a few smoothing groups m8 also try and give us some direct screen shots with wires and without so that we can get a clear view of the actual model and not a fancy render
and lovely modeling and weapon

no, any idea, probably we will use the tweaked sound from any other MG, really don't knowma21212 wrote: do you have any idea what the weapons gonna sound like? is it gonna be similar to the EOD m60?
I don't like to do the smooting before I have finished the model, I dunno about 3ds, but in Maya, every vertex edited screws the smooth and you have to do it again and again...[R-DEV]motherdear wrote:add a few smoothing groups m8 also try and give us some direct screen shots with wires and without so that we can get a clear view of the actual model and not a fancy render
Some wireframe orthographic views for MotherDear
and "A fancy one" for everyone else
added trigger and forearm grip...
btw, as you can see on the wireframe views, tri count is at the limit, from now I'll try to do some normal mapping, I found a really good and fast software to do the job, more screens coming....

I read in immediate response by Maj Mark Hammond DFC RM that the chinooks circa 2006/7 were armed with either or a mix of miniguns or M60s
is that correct today? if so, its another application for this weapon, great job mate
