If you mean those small dots on the lines, they're of some use. In BF they can be used effectively to hit targets on the move at range. IE if your target apears to be yay big in your scope, you aim at a certain mark. As for wind.... I dont think BF has wind, so that wouldnt affect it.

That would be freakin awsome if that really worked like you said.....and yet I would be highly pissed as I would have never known.....

well basicly the dots are used to determine the range not to aim on the move. once determining the range then ur able to change your drop. then you do the math for the windage, and do the math for the rate of speed there walking, 2 steps per 2 sec ect 19 mph blah blah

BF2's M24 is mounted with a Mil-Dot reticle M3A telescopic sight, so that answers your question. However, I wouldn't expect the Mil-Dots to have any effect on your shooting, once you get in-game.

A realistic marksmanship system has been one of our hopes for this mod since it first started up. However, we'll have to see what we can do with the BF2 engine before any final decisions can be made.

What's the point of sniping? Currently in BF/DC, there is no ghillie suits, the underbrush cover is inadequate, so for all intents and puropses, you are exposed 90% of the time. DCX tried to work on the issue by giving sniper a "deployable" bush, whereby one of the positions was made up of bunch of twigs you can drop, and that worked, but again, what's the point, if you can get picked up by RADAR, FFS..... I would take my time get into position, only to be taken out by a Shilka or Vulcan or best of all, some AF hot jock who would slow his F16 down and shoot me with his cannon. Pfft... pathetic. Add to that the the LevelOfDetail on the character is such that you can see a soldier from a long way off, even if he's in hiding, since the LOD of a bush is not the same as LOD of a character.
I really hope BF2 finds a way around this.

Seeing how pilots can do touch and go landings on a carrier at sea during a night snow storm I think slowing down is highly realistic.

Especially when combined with the F-15's AN/APG 70 radar patched into motion sensors that Area 51-like security teams placed all over the map. Catching snipers should be easy with radar.

Sniping not also just a form of killing people its allso used for recon so there for if the Voice thingy works well the sniper is a valuable assest to any team in real or video game life.

I was just wondering if this mil-dot thingy includes the ACOG. I have shot my brothers AR-15 with it and it was definitly the best optic i have ever shot through.
