G3 Recoil

I know it has always had big recoil but I think it's unrealistic

look at this video

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/qw8hK6QZWDA&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/qw8hK6QZWDA&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

as you can see in the real time replay in the end the recoil is nowhere near what we have in PR so it should be reduced.

keep in mind that the G3 has en stock almost extending the barrel just like the M16 and the moving parts doesnt look to be that big and heavy. theese are 2 of the factors that make the AK47 have such big recoil.

G3 fires a much larger round then the m16- larger round means more grain- more grain means bigger boom- bigger boom means more force be exerted back into your sholder and out of the muzzle.

Also notice the berrel climb between shots, without an actual way of messuring I will have to guess here, but it looks like by the third shot his muzzle has rased 1.5-2 inches (3-5 cm). Which could depending on range to targe be as much as 2-5 yards (~2-3m).

Little movements make huge diffrences at range. Though the animations may not be spot on in pr the physics of it are right.

Well i can only tell my experience with a Stg 58 (austrian FN FAL, almost the same handling as a G3), wich uses 7,62x51mm NATO rds.
Standing unsupported/supported=horrendous Recoil
Crouched unsupported/supported=controllable Recoil
Prone unsupported/supported=almost no recoil
Note that i`ve fired in Single. Firing in Auto kicks the shit outta you unless you are a highly trained professional. That means the recoil of the G3 in PR is realistic.

thought i'd point out that 'andy mcnab' video isn't a G3. It looks to be the HK33 which is a 5.56 version of the G3.

I second what Riflewizard and USMCMIDN said about the HK33. I have shot several thousand rounds with the G3 = 7.62x51 NATO. And I find the recoil ingame very realistic.

I know the HK33 video looks like there isn't much recoil, but looking down the sights the picture is very different..

I say keep it :)
