[AAR] What was supposed to be a pickup...

So. I've forgotten what map it was, but it was way back when v0.9 first came out. I found it hilarious. Wish I could of said it sooner, and gotten a video, but unfortunately.. I didn't.

Anyways, to my story.

So, here we are, infiltrating. After we were done with out things, as we were in enemy territory, and we almost didn't get out, we asked for a pickup. (So remember, this was when Chinooks first appeared, and as many pilots know, the Chinook is actually a pretty hard think to fly..) We got an answer, then we saw on the map a Chinook heading for us. The Chinook landed perfectly, literally perfectly. Like, it didn't even skid, it just... landed. He yelled for us to get on, so we ran towards it.

I don't even know HOW it happened, but the Chinook tipped over as we were getting close, spun around, and killing about 3 of our squad members. So here we are, in enemy territory, three squad members dead, the squad leader one of them, our transport was blown up.

Then a tank rolled by, enemy, he/she heard or saw the explosion, who knows. We're F***ed. So. You know what happens next.

Maybe he lagged or something, it's happened to me on more than one occasion, flying towards the city on Muttrah, get lag and the game freezes for a second, game unfreezes and i'm heading toward the sea at 500km/h, doesn't help that I fly pretty close to the ground.

No. It wasn't that. It was either a glitch in the system, or it was because the Chinook was really new.
Because it was really soon after it was released.

So. It was hilarious, and sucked. Haha.

He landed perfectly. Then.. FLIP...

Everyone screaming HOLY SHIT at the same time. Haha.

Is the Chinook hard to fly?

I find it easier tbh :/

Maybe it's hard to fly if you're used to smaller Helis..

No. The bananachopper wasn't just.. the same.
Because, the chopper's control was very different. So. It was incredibly weird, and obviously, the chopper had a few glitches considering this was the same week it came out.

Haha!

Silent Eagle: First time I fly a Chinook. Thought, this can't be much harder than a Huey ;)

Press S. Chinook oscillates to the left... to the right... I try to land... to much forward tip... BOOM.

:) Was posting this earlier but this message showed up ;)
The following errors occured with you submission
1. Sorry for the inconvenience, but the forum is currently closed for maintenance.

We should be back up and running in about 30 minutes...at least that is the plan.

"Chinook fail" in all-chat by a russian. Luckily, everyone else ignored and I continued playing as an infantry guy...
If it was TG that russian would have been banned ;) Happened to me when I said "Sniper down!" in Muttrah back at .8...

Nop kicked. But the server filled up 2 seconds later, which is like getting banned for 1 day XD

But that's probably because we killed 2 snipers, 10 minutes interval between each.

My money is on that it was the same admin... lol

But that's back in January or December 2009. I talked to an admin and he said he didn't think my kick was fair, he said I should've get a warning first for not "taunting" - that wasn't my intention in the first place.

That might have been me that said Chinook fail. Did you crash near Central Village?

I was on Muttrah about a week ago. On the 24/7 server. We obviously knew our huey pilots were stupid. (but not as stupid as we found out) We get picked up by a pilot we knew he couldn't fly, but hey, a win was at stake. He missed the first landing approach. Then went back and all I saw when we turned around was a big fat huey right in our faces. *BOOM* The other huey pilot decided to follow our huey.

Whichever server is English, almost full, and not Insurgency.

Sweet. You just managed to exclude 0% of all the servers I thought you might play in ;)

Jokes aside, I might see you rarely, for I LOVE insurgency.

On-topic, several times a chopper gets shot down (actually, crash) right about to transport my squad. Result? We must rescue that pilot ;)

Once a huey got hit in front of the hotel in Muttrah. He hopped out and just watched that million-dollar machine burst in flames... My quick thinking, though, made me jump into the chopper and drop the crate 8-) I know I was a hero. Later that round we literally ran into a captive US soldier. My SL was walking in front of me and got shot. I shotgunned the hell outta the prone enemy and another one that came from behind the building. A US guy, surrendering, comes out of nowhere, does NOT say thank you on chat or commo rose, gets a kit on the nearby US box (which the MECs didn't destroy for an uknown) and goes on his merry way.
