[AAR] Fail commanding with nice people Karbala

IMHO this map is the most extreme example of required teamwork, so i go CO.

WE decide to build a FOB out in the sands as a rally point, and something to do while the teams sorts itself out and passing the 20 min LB spawn time.
About 60% of the team join in with the strategy, of course one squad takes the (unrespawning) tank into the city on its own with inevitable consequences.

However one squad is completely doing their own thing with no responses from VOIP or text. As the game continues I try to see if we can bring this squad on board to which the reply is 'shut the $*^รน up' twice, then the SL proceeds to insult me in his own language. I reply sorry I don't know German (sounded like German) 'it's not German' then insults me again making incestuous remarks about my Mum (who's dead so necrophilia is perhaps more applicable). Of course this squad lost quite alot of assets which is given on this map alone.

The admins who seem cool (Apart from the poor guys that got teamswitched to ins for the third time....) and serious game players banned the guy (permanently I hope).

Just wanted to share this experience as it shocked me a bit, I never shout or order people around on a pub server I act as a comms conduit and try to co ordinate the most players as possible. I don't spam VOIP or text I use B all the time and very rarely V as I know how stressful it is as SL only too well.

No point saying where it was as this lovely guy could have been anywhere, but the admins sorted it out quickly so no complaints there, just a bit depressing to try and have a fun game for everyone, US and ins and to be met with abuse like that.
Although that is the first time ever thank god.

Karbala IMHO can only be played with US together except for a few guys doing Spotting or recce otherwise it is certain failure.

Im sad to hear you experienced that Ploddit mate, I hope it doesn't put you off commanding, it is always appreciated when I see you in that box.

Glad the admins got it sorted.

Seconded. Its a real shame the CO position has such a bad rep, to the extent people feel its acceptable to act like that.

I resisted the urge to rage quit, as most players where cool. Nah takes more than one sad individual, most people are so happy to see a CO it makes it worthwhile.
Besides I can always constantly spam the individual squad as I don't think they can mute the CO....cue evil laugh.

No the admins were excellent and were playing well so for once compliments to them.

I love cool COs that really take command of an army.

IF you are doing a GOOD JOB (which sounded like you were), feel free to scream sometimes :) No don't it's annoying. If a SL doesn't answer you try again in a couple of minutes (or when he is safe and isolated ie. no engines around him). I think most of them like to have a CO. I know I do.

A good one, specially.

I had an awesome game as commander on jabal, US side a few days ago. The Sls where helpful and willing to work, it's a great feeling having everyone on board. My entire game turned into complete and total information handling where I was constantly talking to all the squads in turn. It got so intense I lost track of the UAV which went way off the map.

When you have a round like that as commander it makes you want to do it again, even if such rounds are few and far between.
