Tips for a full squad

Post by VikingShip »

Here is some tips for your squad when your facing challenging or difficult moments:

1) If your under fire and you have someone in your squad with a specilist kit, tell them to throw it up in a tree, once it gets stuck have your whole squad get up there (Saved me from being killing about 15 times all ready)

2) Never be a loner in a squad

More Tips are appreciated!

1) if the enemy sees you or accidentally finds you he can be happy to have 6 freekills, besides there is always the option to turn the fight over at ANY point, so i either would recommend running away and turning around and hitting from time to time or face the fight like a man :)

2) lonewolfs are imo a very important part of every team, e.g. insurgency, sneaking in and soloing the cache, furthermore taking out firebases and so on.

so more tips:
- dont sql if youre not capable of:
if youre not good at commanding, arent fully awake etc dont lead a sq
- find a person you can trust to be the medic
- sort out persons that dont seem to have any idea
e.g. non voip, people that dont even say hello when joining the sq
- listen to your sqm suggestions but make sure they know who is the boss:
what you say has to be the word of god in their ears
- always focus on your objective:
on aas, you either want to kill people/defend, so engage if you have the ability to make some confirmed kills, when attacking a flag/cache, you only shoot if youre compromised and ALWAYS run off

more to come....

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

Basic Squad Combat

When you engage the enemy, the battle will go three ways.
  • You have fire superiority. This means that you have the weapons and firepower to deal with whatever is thrown at you and can suppress and destroy the enemy. So perhaps you have an enemy vehicle nearby but you have the firepower and skill to take it out before it takes you out.
  • Both sides are even on firepower and player skill. You will have to use tactics and optimize the individual skills of players to win this battle.
  • You are outnumbered and/or outgunned. You have an infantry squad and they have a two vehicle squad. You have no good cover and concealment and are going to lose.
So try to figure out which scenario you are in when you engage in battle. You can tell by identifying enemy weapons and comparing them to your own, enemy volume of fire and the accuracy of it, the rate of your own squad players going down, and some instinct.

Basic Tips of Combat
  • If battle if favorable, press on.
  • If it is even, try to gain the advantage.
  • If you are losing, it's best to retreat and save your tickets. Unless it is tactically better to delay the enemy and stay alive as long as possible for friendly forces to accomplish another more crucial objective.

This is my guide to SMs... Hope it helps someone!
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D
