After trawling through a few of the threads on here about joysticks and M+Ks, i'm wondering if there is a way for you to use the mouse as a hat-switch for looking around?
I'll still be using the joystick for movement and the throttle, and the keyboard for whatever else.
No big problem if not, it'd just make it easier to spot targets for the team, the gunner or the squad in the back.
Using a keyboard, mouse AND a joystick?

You can easily do this. Press Ctrl when you're in the aircraft, then start moving the mouse, it will work.
I use a Saitek X52 Pro and it has a built in mouse in the throttle.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

Get "JoyToKey" and you can even do that with your joystick.

You mean i'd be able to use the hat switch or another one of the function keys on the joystick?Predator.v2 wrote:Get "JoyToKey" and you can even do that with your joystick.

Re: Using a keyboard, mouse AND a joystick?
Computers are able to process multiple I/O devices, really its the actual software, meaning the game, that may limit this. I remember that IL-2 doesn't do more than 2 input devices so thats why software for those sticks merges the different devices into one entity as far as the game is concerned, though it can still make for some difficulties.
However for BF2 I know you can have multiple sticks work in conjunction with the mouse. I use Rudder pedals, an X-52, and my mouse and my keyboard all at once. I fly with my mouse, the X-52 throttle, and the pedals. No conflicts with the three, and if I wanted to I could use the stick too.
The mouse by default looks around like a free camera when you press Ctrl. I set up a button on my X-52 throttle to mimic it so I can do it HOTAS but with mouse instead of the stick.

I'm Using a mouse, keyboard and stick, but when I use the stick to do things like look side to side (freelook as player or in a vehicle, moving a turret in a vehicle or gunner in a helicopter). How do you get it to enable free look?
