(I would like to put a poll, I don't know how to do it, I guess an admin can make this thread into one, with options: 1,2,3)
WHAT FLOOR IS SPITFIRE ON?

ah! I had a situation like this today on UKWF
![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)
Spitfire is on the second floor. At least thats how it goes here in The Netherlands. You got the groundfloor, than the 1st level and than the second level. So today, on UKWF Muttrah, I was on the second floor while a guy kept saying: How hard can it be to find me? Second floor SE! Turns out, he was on the first. At least, using the way I learned where I grew up.

same in Serbia, and I guess in Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia... so I would say:
"
Spitfire is on the SECOND floor"
... but I would also call it "the third level"
funny how most of the people never noticed anything weird when spotting floors.

In my experience, Europeans see it as the second floor while North Americans see it as a the 3rd floor.

oh yea? So Americans have a 1 on the floor that you get on when you enter the hotel, X story building? Funny how theres small things different in other parts of the world that are so normal for your own situation ^-^

Yep, here we would say 3rd floor, maybe this should be added to the manual to make sure everyone's using the same system. (Not that it would do much since "RTFM" isn't taken seriously.)

lol, I thought the screenshot was a bug and he was prone a level up showing his tag. From the screenshot perspective, it would look like spitfire was looking at the shooter, but could be a tagless baddy only showing spitfire's tag behind him.

Wow, not sure how well I described that!
But now I understand the situation. Have come across it a few times before also.

Agree, Ground Floor, 1st Floor, Spitfire 2nd Floor. UK speaking any ways.
Another thing that happens in PR. What side of the road you drive on. Had a head on crash and blew up my Humvee the other day. APC coming at me along the road so I pull over to my left (UK roads) the team mate in the apc pulls over to his right turns out after we laughted about it over mumble he was from Turkey.

Seriously, Second floor, I have always said it like that and get moaned at for it because Americans cant compensate for it.

I've noticed this communication problem too.
I usually say something like "Yo, Spitfire is on the 2nd floor, 3 up" or "Yo, Spit is on 2nd floor, ground,1,2"

Tu quoque, Brate, mi fili?
It is common in most Europe to name floors G, 1, 2, 3... As if I mentioned earlier, I would call Spitfire being on the
2nd floor, but I would also call it the
3rd level. How come? Well, when I think of it as a retro video game, you start on the first LEVEL, and then you get to the 2nd, and then 3rd, where Spitfire is.
Maybe we can make a standardized naming with "levels" (like in a video game) instead of floors?
