[List] Surrounded and no backup moments?

Post by AgentSnake »

Hey guys,

This is my first post and just wanna say to all the PR community, "Hi" :)

Well here is my tale of being surrounded and with no backup. The map was Al Bazarah and the server was the =49th= Chicago server. The squad that I was in was moving forward to the city by crossing the river and running along the gas pipes. We were providing over watch near the closest cache.

We were shooting at all insurgents that were manning vehicles near the road heading towards the FOB. Suddenly RPG fire whiz by my head. As soon as the RPG pass me, small arms fire started to fire from the city towards us.

Looks like everyone spawn at the cache or call in reinforcements to attack our position. We couldnt move forward towards the cache quick enough and we had no tank or apc support. We hold that around for another 2 or 3 minutes till SL order us to fall back to buildings.

I think we tried to retreat to those buildings but we just stood at our ground :P till the server changed map since the server admins ( who are really really cool people i might add :) love ya guys at =49th=) said the map was causing a lot of CTD so had to change map :(

If anyone was there when I was playing, all i remember are a few names in my squad [EASYCOMP] CAPTAN and some guy with a FOX in their name :P

Oh yeah my name ingame was agentsnake. :P

So if ya have any stories of videos that was a tough surrounded momment post em or type em.

Sorry for the big wall of text if any of you guys don't like to read.

I hate it when you get the whole enemy team on you and your team mates won't come to rescue you. But then you are also making an opportunity to sneak up onto the cache and destroy it 1337 N1nj4 style.
We are staying up!

Lashkar Valley... We fought well, took out a cache with some other 2 squads. One of the squads go in the huey and goes away, safely away from enemy fire. My squad is waiting for the huey, when a PKM starts firing.

Then more guns.

Then a sniper.

"WHERE'S OUR EXTRACTION?!"
"Chopper blew up..."
"Damn!"

We fight a lot, we call in mortars. In the end, we die. We were trying to find a gap to leave, but with no success :(

That sounded like that cache was a bait for more ambushes. Nice screenshot, was that Observation marker where the taliban camping at?

Yes sir, I guess it was! They showed up right after taking out the cache... And more than half their team was defending that cache I believe.

And the observe marker, that was a PKM gunner. There was also many more talibans, including one down the road (Picture 2), and on Picture 5, that smoke is where the mortars hit around a few moments later (read chat).

I guess mine would be the time on Karbala. Quite a long time ago but still. Squad name: "ninjacaches" I think you can figure out how this goes. :D

So we got in a trans Humvee and headed down the far right road across the river to the outter like village/town area. We sat out there. (I forgot to tell you we only had 3 people in our squad.. including me) till the cache marker showed up in the town there. The rest of the team was way out in like the A3-B4 area taking out the other cache. When we got in the town we quickly saw alot of insurgents setting up around and atop the surrounding building. I knew and my SL knew that we couldn't ninja this one. He calls for backup ect ect. But on their way to us they got RPG ambused and told us its "gonna be awhile..."

A lucky insurgent saw us right as we were extracting out of the town and theres where hell broke loose. We got PKM'd AK'd. RPG'd. Grenaded. About everything the insurgents could throw, shoot, or explode at us. Our SL died and thats when me and my squadmate decided to get the fuck out. To bad it wasn't that easy. We both died and 5 minutes after that, the rest of the team got there and got the cache. Yeah. We were pretty pissed haha. Awesome moment none the less.

Actually another one that happened last night. On Operation Archer. I was leading a mortar squad and we relocated to another FOB that was pretty well secure(A11-12 area). All was good for a bit. The squad defending the FOB left and we were left. (3 man squad again haha) All alone constantly firing and calling for supplies. Then lucky us the cache spawns in the oil derrick town. I told my two sqmates to fire on there and when they're out of mortars get out and fire onto whatever they see. Again noone were near us it was just us 3. All the HMG's facing the opposite side. We thought we pretty much halted they're advance but then we got flanked from out left. Then.. Well.. "*DEAD* Respawn in 44 seconds." :| Round pretty much ended there for us.

IDK where the map screenshot went for that. But me and my squad, a clan I was tagging along with, were hanging out in N bunkers as Americans.
Just us, nobody else, SL's raging nobody's coming to support.

Man, I had many of those moments, but I'd say the most recent memerable moment was during a battle in Kokan.

I was an insurgent with an ak47. We were defending the known cache in one of those compounds. After about 15 minutes of hard fighting and defending, we gradually got picked off by the helicopters, humvee 50 cals, and mortars to where only me and a handful of insurgents remained. We all retreated into the cache building. The cache was in the most secretive place, down inside a small basement, and the only way to come in was through the basement door. after being injured by a bullet I went down to the basement to get healed by a squad medic. Next thing I noticed when I opened my map was that me and my medic buddy down at the cache basement were the only ones alive. We heard humvess and footsteps upstairs, as infantry rushed into our compound. Outnumbered and surrounded, me and my buddy both reloaded, he grabbed a scout SMG kit and we just crouched behind a basket with our guns pointed to the door. The first wave consisted of a squad of 5. One came through the door, pop, shot him dead. Then the second came, we shot him again. The routine kept going on for 5 more kills for me until the enemy got smart. They tossed frags into the room and we ducked, fortunetly we were not hurt by the blast since we hid behind the basket. Next thing we knew the enemy threw smoke, I retreated to the cache as my buddy pulled out his shotgun and had it trained at the smoke. A gunfight ensued and my buddy was shot down. As the US troops turned the corner to the short hallway (it was literally 1 yard long) I shot him dead, I reloaded and turned the corner to pick off another soldier wounded at the stairs. After the smoke clear it was quite. After a minute I heard the room of Humvees again. Wave 2.... This time, the troops didnt bother coming down to the basement. They set up a C4 right above the cache on the floor and somehow blew it up (what the hell right?) Then I heard them running off. I went upstairs to kill the soldier (I was quite irritated) and saw them rushing off into the forest in two humvees. I blindly fired my ak at them in rage. Then the map ended.

Hahaha oh man..

Maybe the canadian.

The french simply call it "standart movement".

The moment on Lashkar Valley where we had 5 insurgents in the cave beside a cache and the whole blufor team trying to get in using smoke, nades, c4 and claymores. When i died i crossed half the map and got back and found about 9 germans in the small hallway in the cave before getting to the cache. Naturally i just threw a nade which killed about 6 of them and rushed in with the PPSH to finish survivors!

Haven't played much over the last few months (I now lead a clan in a different game) but I had a good one yesterday.

We're an inf squad moving down the east side of Kokan and we're of course on our own. We move slowly down the side of the map but after a few minutes we come under attack while moving through a small compound. Our squad leader tells us to dig in and we take the high ground, fending off assault by dozens of enemy infantry for 5 minutes straight. I'm using the shotgun the whole time as they were so close to us. Our leader at one point realised we couldn't hold the position so we decided to make a fighting retreat south which was ironically further away from the team.

Not 10 seconds go by after leaving the compound and a mortar round smacks right in the middle of it. We promptly leg it while realising the small lull in fighting was due to them retreating from mortars. We then get to another compound and dig in there after having a techie light us up. What then follows is about 15 minutes of fighting again but this time with vehicles attacking us. We're getting pounded by techies constantly with one or two being one manned.

Suddenly, I hear someone call out "BOMB CAR". We spray the car down and for lack of a better word, annihilate the driver who had got to about 15m away from us. 20 seconds later and another comes towards us but we get this one and a little further away than the original one. About 2 minutes later our backup finally arrives in the form of a CROWS hummer. He nails everything moving.

NEEEEEEOOOOOM BOOOM. Bloody mortars on us again, this time without accuracy and we run like little girls back to our team.

Was a pretty fun "welcome back" game for me.
