[AAR] Operation Barracuda, April 18th, 128 Players

Post by Muffins »

I know, that many of you have stories to tell about that game.

That game was on so many levels of epic, it needs to be talked about.

If someone recorded, put the video up here

There was a point where half our squad covered and suppressed a bunker, and the other half of us charged to it, and there was explosions, grenades, breaching, and pure epicness

Then the entire last 30 minutes of the round were amazing. Our squad kept shifting defense lines at the supply fort, relived other squads so they could go gather supplies. Just the entire feel of it was amazing, CAS huey raining down hell, smoke everywhere, USMC rushing from lines, people screaming, someone playing Vietnam music, logi trucks scrambling to bring supplies, wounded everywhere. Good god, it was awesome.

the USMC just kept changing their direction of attack :P glad our AA cover was well manned otherwise those gunships would have gotten us good.

Supply base is definately my favourite flag on that map

aaahwyeaa! You where in my squad. That was an awesome game! :D Loved the bunker part and the relieving squads.

Jafar IronClad was once again a cool squad-leader and we had other good squad-leaders in the game as well. I didnt only love the things our squad did or other squads did but the whole situation just felt bad-***. Being cut off from supplys at one point. Seeing USMC silhouettes pop up on the ridge line west of us between the trees. Than a lot of smoke was popped and they where gone. Ary strike to finish the last of them.

Shifting over to another trench. Being promoted radio man for my squad and listening the awesome Squad Radio chatter. Rounds dont get much better than that! Finished 3-0 ;) Thanks medics!

Some squad leaders are good leaders but aren't good at relaying coms etc, so sometimes they prefer it when a squad member is in teh SL channel and the SL is left to concentrate on his job, It can be quite effective.
Yeah, I wonder who that twat was.
I don't mind music over mumble if its not incredibly crappy quality but only when nothing is happening.

Jafar (who imo has become one of the best SLs in PR) was trying to say things to me, but I couldn't hear him over the music. When there is SL coms, mumble coms and squad voip to hear I just can't handle another layer of sound on top, especially when some people's mics need a serious amount of boost or they need to stop chewing on the mic.

But still epic round on Cuda, and Iron eagle was pretty good too, had a go with the Gopher which was fun; I really like the hud.

Special thanks to guys, who set up that glorious line of defence :)

We tried to hold the Airstrip as long as we could ( this was quite epic too btw).

My squadmember scored 2 or 3 kills just "shooting somewhere, where everybody shoots")))

Ah, and all the yelling for medics in mumble after CAS runs , so tragic!

Did any of u guys attacked a supply truck, which was moving throught the woods, north of supply base, approx 250 meters away? 15 dudes just opened fire @ it with small arms! poor ******* blew up in 5 seconds or so :)

( why do we have only Chinese in this thread, LOL )

I wondered too :D

Flying the CAS Huey was pretty much fun, though. So many targets on the ground^^
Was the best air-experience I made in my whole PR time, never had 41-0 before..
But the air defence was pretty nice I have to admit, couldnt do more than hit and run over and over again ;)

I have the Operation Barracuda recording, but didn't get the airstrip part.

YouTube - Pureroller's Channel

Here's my channel cause I'm kinda new to recording-it's still uploading though.

Wicca, are you disappointed in me?

I agree with Rudd on Jafars SL skills. :D Might be taking it a bit far with the numbers for some people but if you dont mind being a bit more "milsim" than its awesome to use a squad like that.

And like Rudd said, I was in the SL channel to listen in. I had listening rights and was only allowed to speak important things. So if Jafar missed anything I would be there to relay it to him.

Aw, man, and yesterday I was like: "Hmm, maybe I should join the 116 server and have some fun? Nah, let's do something else, more productive". I'm so sad right now. But happy for the good game you had.
While watching the video i pressed CAPS in first seconds :<

Unbelievable!

My old T61 melted ages ago playing PR, and now I have a replacement with a crappy on-board card, You guys start hopping around with 128 player on the map! How much I wanted to have a these player number! Fireteams, finally!

I wish I could join You, but my Intel VGA does say no.

Alas, we will see us in better days!

Yours,

Good video and good playing with you last night mate on Korengal Vally and a couple of other maps too think.

I'm definately going to be doing some more recordings soon but i need to reduce my filesize dramacticly. Uploading a 1.72gig file only to have it fail at around 80% isn't fun.
