MAG-58 for Aussies?
Would be one of the best addtions to PR in a long long time. Also the Brits could use it as a basis for their L7A2 GPMG. Its a win win situation.

Re: MAG-58 for Aussies?
How you you envision it being used? Would it be a deployable machine gun pit similar to the M2/L2A1 or DShK already in-game? Or.would it be a mounted gun for vehicles (iirc, the L7A2 was mounted on WMIKs in early versions of PR)?
Or would it be a limited/pick-up kit? IRL, it's fairly bulky and heavy, so it might be worth reducing the user's sprint bar or making the weapon only fireable when in the prone/deployed.

Possibly as all three roles. Australians use it as a SSW in real life as well. Why penalize the player for using it? The Russians, Taliban, and Militia all use the PKM, which is comparable in both weight and firepower.Kilo 2-3 wrote:How you you envision it being used? My sweet dream, where you can choose AR kit(LMGs like RPK/M249/Negev/MG4 etc) and Machinegunner kit(GMPGs like PK,FN MAG,MG3 etc).
For 128 players it's would be looks nice.
Edit - and remove Guided HAT kit.Put weapons like SMAW.

Do you mean a mount? The Bushmaster is getting the RWS, and thats the only armored troop vehicle proposed for the Australian faction at the moment.
The ASLAV isn't getting a secondary gunners position, since the USMC LAV-25 doesn't feature it either.

True that there is an RWS on the bushmaster (12.7 or 7.62) but the two rear infantry hatches can and usually have either minimis or mag58s on them.

Re: MAG-58 for Aussies?
Highly unlikely they will be there. Strykers, LAV-25's and other vehicles often have infantry poking out the hatches with MG's however in PR for some reason they aren't present, thus its doubtful they will be on the Bushy.

Re: MAG-58 for Aussies?
Don't forget the m113 with the huge infantry hatch. but without getting of topic, having a rear mounted mag58 implemented would provide additional firepower to the Australian faction due to the lack of heavy AFV's. Also because we are Australian, we need a fridge even though it has no use in game, its just who we are.

Too right mate..
No vehicles will be getting it I don't think, plus the M113AS4 turret has to be made too.

Re: MAG-58 for Aussies?
Think about an Australian sniper team and what they have on their quad bikes.
SR25, mp5, usp 45, mk46, CG 84mm, barret 50. but that's all i can remember. Point is, we need more firepower on the Aussie side as we lack in ammunition, not skill.

There is absolutely no chance that there will be a quad bike, MP5, Mk46 or Barret for the ADF period.
I say that with the utmost confidence. PR represents grunt warfare, which means everything you'd see in a regular RAInf BN.

5/7 perhaps? Without getting of topic, will the MAG58 have the wildcat sight mounted? as this is used in deployment.

Re: MAG-58 for Aussies?
Well yes, thats IF it comes in as an infantry kit. There is no intent for the M240/GPMG family of weapons to feature for a second AR kit.
