wow i didnt realize how many responses this thread got. anyways, i do hope the DEVs do something with mumble for .9 that would be great. although i wonder will that reduce the worth of mumble? just a thought but maybe this kind of awesomeness needs to be somewhat contained. if mumble was on every server, i think there would be a lot of spam, and only the servers like RT, dedicated to mumble, would be good. kind of like how TG is better than most other servers for overall good gameplay. just a thought

Actually, I find it funny when I'm by a enemy sniper on mumble, and then they start talking and everything, then they scare me because I didn't hear them before :-X

i think that adds more realism to the game. in RL, when you are close to the enemy, you can hear them talking/shouting, or even whispering to eachother. it adds a whole new element to surprise.

I once was on a rooftop as an insurgent with a stolen American kit on Karbala, when I heard some guys nearby joking and laughing on Mumble.
Since no friendlies were in the vicinity, I knew they were enemies.

They passed through an alley below my building, and I took out a grenade and said on Mumble "You guys shouldn't talk so loud on Mumble. It gives your position away. Now, look up."
They all looked up at the roof at once, and I threw a grenade down and killed three of them.
It was epic! :)

This does seem to be an increasing trend, people joining mumble servers because they can piss people off with smacktalk or play music.

Thank god there are admins out there willing to !k and !b order back in to the universe.

yes, many people who are not part of the RT community, or who are not serious players, go onto mumble and just mess around. thankfully the admins are fantastic on the RT servers, and soon the servers will be passworded. the passworded servers should reduce the amount of clusterf, ckers, and the admins will be able to handle the rest.

I can see the potential in Mumble, but its almost pointless because no one uses it. i was in the =RRF= server the other day, and i was the ONLY ONE in Mumble

then play on Reality Teamwork, 100% Mumbler Population. TG and UKWF also usually have a quite a few.

The password for the Passworded servers is avaliable on the mumble channel. (so that non-mumblers can never enter the server)

Oh, I see, that's smart.
Never knew that. 8)

Although I hate it when people get into global chat and start talking so everyone can hear them.

There was this one guy talking about what he ate for dinner to 64 people while I was trying to kill a Stryker with an RPG....

yeah, last night we had this Russian/east european constantly talking, he wasn't ingame. He'd get kicked, but be back a few mins later. But the RT admins got his name and got rid of him very quickly.
