My Amazing Idea For A Gamemode.
Ok Now, This Is My Idea For An Awsome Gamemode For PR Veitnam (Note: This Probably Won't Happen Because It Would Be Too Hard To Make)
Gamemode Details:
The Gamemode Would Be Called: Capture Veitnam (CV) Or Take Over Veitnam (TOV) The Main Objective Would Be To Just Like The Title States, Take Over Veitnam. It Would Be Very Organized. You Would Have To Get Intel On Enemy Bases. (The Best Way Would Be To Use Recon Squads) Then Once You Have Intel, You Plan An Attack On That Enemy Base. Then Just Keep Doing That Until You Have Taken Over The Whole Map. There Would Be No Time Limit, Or Score Limit. The Only Way To Win Is To Take Over The Map. Every Base That Your Team Builds Counts As A Small Portion Of The Map. The More You Expand That Base With Fortifacations, The More Space It Would Take Up On The Map.
Gamemode Features:
There Would Be A Day And Night Cycle. Have The Daytime And Night Time Last 3 Hours Each. A Certain Class Could Have Camping Supplies For The Squad. Or Everyone Could Carry Their Own Sleeping Bag, Or Tent. I Doubt Anyone Would Actually Want To Have Their Player Sleeping For 3 Hours While You're Bored In Real Life. So There Could Be Things To Do For Those Three Hours, Like A Mini Game Of Something Like Cards, Or You Could Just Take A Break From The Game. You Would Need To Camp To Get Rest. There Would Be An Energy Meter For Your Player. If You Don't Rest, Then You Will Pass Out And Someone Will Need To Wake You Up, And Then You Will Need To Get To A Sleeping Bag Or Tent, Or You Will Keep Passing Out. Your Energy Meter Will Be Effected By How Much You Walk, Run, And Jump ETC. You Will Also Need To Take Breaks To Stop And Eat, And Drink Water. Eating Food, And Drinking Water Will Effect Your Energy Meter. Eating And Drinking Will Give You More Energy. It Would Also Be A Neccecity To Survive (Note That Your Energy Meter Wouldn't Be Shown On Your HUD For More Realism)
And For The Hardcore, And Serious Gamers, HAVE A FULL 24 HOUR DAY AND NIGHT CYCLE. The 24 Hour Day And Night Cycle Would Be Best For Weekends. If You're Not Doing Anything Over The Weekend, You Can Play The Gamemode. It Would Actually Work Out Pretty Well. You Play During The Daytime, Then You Actually Go To Sleep At Night (I'm Not Talking About In The Game, I Mean In Real Life, You Would Just Leave The Game Running At Night While You Sleep) You Would Need To Rest, And Eat, And Drink, Just Like I Wrote In The Previous Paragragh.
Map Details: There Would Be One Map. Obviously The Map Is Not Going To Be The Actual Size Of Veitnam, But The Map Would Be About 4, Or 5 Times Bigger Than Normal BF2 PR Maps. The Map Would Be Filled With Area's Such As: Jungles, Small Villages, And Rivers.
Factions:
USMC: The USMC Would Have A Much Larger Arsenal Of Weapons And Vehicles, But Would Not Have The Advantages, Or Resourses That The NVA Would Have.
NVA: The NVA Would Have A Small Arsenal, But Would Have Advantages And Resources Such As: Being Used To The Hectic Terrain Which Allows Them To Move Faster, And Quieter When They Are In Crouch Position, Allowing Them To Set Up Better Ambushes. They Would Also Be Able To Use Civilians To Get Them Intel.
Civilians: The Civilians Would Help Out The NVA By Providing Them Food, And Intel. Providing Food For The NVA Would Be Optional, Unless They Ask. If You Fail To Provide Them After They Ask, They Have The Right To Kill You. Sorry, But It's How The Goverment Worked. (Since Most People Probably Wouldn't Want To Be A Civilian, The Civilian Faction Would Be Optional. You Would Not Be Put On The Civilian Faction, Unless You Selected It Yourself)
Kits:
Squad Leader:
USMC: M16, Colt 1911, Knife, Frag Grenade, Signal Smoke Grenade, Radio, Binoculars.
NVA: AK47, MAKAROV, Bayonet, Frag Grenade, Signal Smoke Grenade, Radio, Binoculars.
Riflemen:
USMC: M16, Colt 1911, Knife, Frag Grenade, Smoke Grenade, Extra Ammo, Binoculars.
NVA: AK47, MAKAROV, Bayonet, Frag Grenade, Smoke Grenade, Extra Ammo, Binoculars.
Automatic Rifleman:
USMC: M60, Colt 1911, Knife, Frag Grenade, Smoke Grenade, Binoculars.
NVA: RPK, MAKAROV, Knife, Frag Grenade, Smoke Grenade, Binoculars.
Medic:
USMC: M16, Colt 1911, Knife, Smoke Grenade, Field Dressing, Morphine Shots, Binoculars, Collapseable Stretcher.
NVA: AK47, MAKAROV, Bayonet, Smoke Grenade, Field Dressing, Morphine Shots, Binoculars, Collapseable Stretcher.
Anti-Tank:
USMC: M16, Colt 1911, Knife, Frag Grenade, Smoke Grenade, Binoculars, M72 LAW.
NVA: AK47, MAKAROV, Bayonet, Frag Grenade, Smoke Grenade, RPG-7.
Kit Details:
Squad Leader: The Squad Leader Can Use His Radio To Talk To The Commander, And Ask For Things Like Air Support, Mortar Strikes, Med-Evacs, And Reinforcements.
Rifleman: The Rifleman Can Give His Squadmates More Ammo.
Automatic Rifleman: The Automatic Rifleman Is Best For Suppresion Fire.
Medic: The Medic Can Stop Bleeding With Field Dressing, But It Does Not Heal The Wound.
He Can Also Give Temporary Pain Releif With Morphine Shots, Which Will Allow The Person To Move Better Until The Morphine Runs Out. He Can Also Load Wounded Soldiers Onto Helicopter With His Collapseable Stretcher. The Medic's Supply's Would Only Be Able To Do So Much. If A Soldier Is Still Critacally Wounded After The Medic's Supplies Have Been Used, He Will Need A Med-Evac.
Anti-Tank: The Anti-Tank Soldier Can Take Out Tanks With His Rocket Launcher.
There Would Be More Kits, I'm Just Getting Tired Of Typing.
Vehicle Details:
The Vehicles That Were In BFV Would Be Used In The Gamemode.
Air Vehicle Details:
The Air Vehicles That Were In BFV Would Be Used In The Gamemode.
The Only Difference With Jets Would Be That They Would Be Able To Drop Napalm Bombs
Conclusion:
If You Like This Gamemode Idea, Then Try To Get The Attention Of The Project Reality Team, And Tell Them About This.
Once Again I'll Say This. It Probably Won't Happen. If It Does It Will Take A While.

I'm sorry. What I read in the first 4 paragraphs, united with Starting Every Word With Capitals created a question which won't shut:
Are you a troll?
EDIT: (If not, I'll read the whole thing).

the capitalisation of every beggining letter makes this really difficult for me to read,
and it is just like AAS + C&C combined basically?

It could be possible if this were ArmA II, but it isn't...

Not a bad idea, but players would easily get bored doing the same thing or playing the same map. On top of that there would probably some run-in with hardcoding.

Re: My Amazing Idea For A Gamemode.
Very interesting.
This is the battlefield 2 engine. Not everything is possible. Maps larger than 4km have been made before but are very buggy and its hard to make them, and Ive been told before that it isnt goint to happend ue to the problems with them.
Some of the things you have mentioned look like they would be possible in ARMA 2 though, your gamemode of "taking over the map" is very simular to an gamemode in ARMA 2.
Most people dont play games for very long periods, and I dont think people look forward to getting on their computer to go to sleep. And playing in diferent times zones would be difficult too, because you might only be able to play during a sleep time. People play games to be entertained.
In writing your idea sounds good, but alot of it would not be possible in the battlefield 2 engine, and some of it may not be so great for a game.

That is a good point. Well, like I said, It probably won't happen.VapoMan wrote:Very interesting.

Re: My Amazing Idea For A Gamemode.
That would never work.....In real life you dont see your "Energy meter " or your getsomefood meter because in real life you FEEL the pain when you are no longer able to run...When you need to eat or drink in a game you dont have this.Bryan Milos wrote: There Would Be An Energy Meter For Your Player. BF2 DO NOT allow you to go from daytime to night time
And i don't know if you've read a bit about the kit in PR but not every kit get PISTOL ( read your manuel to know why )
The NVA MG was not an RPK but an RPD or some other but i realy doubt about them using this ( I COULD BE WRONG )
People feel your in game person doesn't
