And you're so slow that its impossible for flares to save you, the rare time they do work is when you're going fast, plus its super easy to gun a slow target.

Sharpie did mention how to get an enemy jet off your tail. I'd just like to say it's a pain in the *** unless you're flying the J10/Eurofighter and the opponent is flying the Mig.
What I always check before taking off is where I've got friendly AA. Yes, I do know that it's risky to fly past a friendly AA with an enemy jet behind you, but it's almost the only thing that will save you.

So how do you get over to your friendly AA without getting locked and killed?
Let's say you're getting locked at an altitude of 2500. There's no way a SAM (surface to air missile) is locking you, so it has to be an enemy jet.
As soon as you're getting locked, start puking out flares until the lock stops. Check your back and see if you can see him. If you can, you have to prevent him from locking you. Start popping flares every two seconds while doing some crazy maneuvers (see Sharpies post for more information).
Keep checking your back frequently, while popping flares.

While doing this, tell your squad-leader to mark the nearest/safest manned AA. He should also tell the guy on the AA that you're on your way with an enemy jet on your ***. As soon as he has marked it, start losing altitude, and head for it.

When/If you've reached the AA you should pray to God that the AA hits the enemy jet, and not yours.

I hope this gave you some help when it comes to getting an enemy jet off your ***.

It's nice flying, but like I said in that thread, the euro fighter pilot sucked, sorry but if there is jet on your tail 90% of the time you're dead, and you mostly will only survive if you're an amzing pilot or he sucks.

True. It's pretty much all about not letting the enemy jet find you.

all u said makes sense but i cant hep think that when asking SL to find nearest AA make sure it safe than asking it to be manned, this is not a fast process for alot of reasons. In my experience which is not that big, when being locked and even knowing where the AA is ur mind is concentrating on shift+x keys and doing some crazy manuveours to a point where u havent got a clue where the ground and sky is lol

btw Saxoni couple of days ago u was on NwA server on kashan flying MiG and i was in F-16...u poped up behind me and started locking me  . I know ur a good pilot but i managed to evade ur MiG for some time being locked and survived. It aint a big deal but just to let u's lot know that iam not an experienced pilot but i can fly and i dont think its that hard tbh, so does this mean iam an "fantastic pilot" or Saxoni is shit lol ?

Let me guess; you're Smurf?
To be honest with you, I have never been more frustrated than what I was after failing to get you. I used all my 6 missiles, and my gun. I was completely out of ammo. This has never happened to me before.
I still had a great round though, ended up with a score of 20-0.

If you only think of popping flares you're dead anyways (unless the pilot does what I did with you, use all his ammo). You shouldn't really care if the AA-area is safe or not. You need that backup anyways. If there's enemy AA there too, I don't really see the problem, as the enemy AA might as well hit his jet instead of yours.

I would also like to add that going straight up with afterburners on helps too. On Kashan you can stay out of the map for 3 minutes. You will have loads of time to cut your engine, lose altitude and get back again.

Are you good or am I just shit? Well, you were just really fucking lucky. Don't expect that to happen the next time you get me, or someone else for that matter, on your tail.

Did you use all you cannon rounds on him and missed or had you already spent a fair amount of ground targets?

I would never let that happen to me. I would keep one missile of each type and just stay on his tail until he uses all of his flares. Especially on Kashan since the visual range is so far.

I would usually never let that happen to me either. Not quite sure what I was thinking.

I was wondering when a good time to pop flares. It always seems that mobile AA can ALWAYS get me no matter how fast I use my flares or how many. Any suggestions?

Yeah I got one and is simple. Stay away from them. Just go down below 1000 to drop jdams on lazes and spam flares while you do so. If you get locked its all luck. Try to move in so you can put your flares between you and AA and do some crazy maneuvers.
In most cases you will not know where SAMs are so that's why I say its more luck than brains.

The best way to evade AA if it is firing from behind you is to break left and right popping flares at the edge of each turn. I am really bad at explaining things, but watching the video at 3:30 will show you what I mean. Popping flares at the final stages of each turn before you twist and begin to turn the other way.

AA missiles will miss most of the time if you try to evade that way.. I will say that this is also a very effective strategy for evading missile hits from enemy jets behind you. If you are being shot by AA from the flank, pull straight up.
