My router went crazy on me this morning, constantly turning itself off and on (connect, disconnect, reconnect), giving me 10 seconds of internet before it went down for another 20. After restarting everything multiple times without any luck I shut it off for 30-45 minutes, and when I turned it back on it worked fine.
Before I turned it off it did feel too hot, is it possible that it overheated? If that is the case I'll go get a new router, and will then need help on which one to get. If not, and there is another explanation I'd like to hear that too.
If I need a new one I'd need a router that will handle multiple wireless connections, 2 close by (same room), one device one floor below, and one device one floor above.

Re: D-Link DIR-655 - Router Issue
I'll try that later today, as I need to be connected to the router via a wire to do it.

I had problems with an 622 I think, it's a long time ago. I don't know exactly.
It's capacitors blow up and the result was exact the same you described.

Re: D-Link DIR-655 - Router Issue
I haven't gotten to updating the firmware as my laptop's fucked up. The issue seemed to be a one-time thing anyways, so I'll just leave it be and go for an update if it happens again.
