CD key Invaild *Steam*

So, to day i Bought BF2 on stream and Downloaded PR. Then i try to join a server a screen pop up and said you cd keys is invalid

Have you ran BF2 ( no mods ) before you actually ran PR? Run BF2 first so it can create its registry entries and needed files in My Documents and then make an offline account, cause online wont work anymore in vanila, play a little bit, then close and try PR. Its a common mistake people do all the time. I am just not sure if it has something to do with invalid cd key thing. Steam installer should of took care of it, but in case it didn't, the fix Noddy posted should work. In all other cases you're using pirated key which is blacklisted.

Make screenshot of your registry entry at

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2\ergc if you are using 32 bit operating system or

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2\ergc if you are using 63 bit OS. Blur out the cd key value!
