Can Matebook X Pro Run This Game

Post by Greenlemon »

I used to play this game on a older computer and it ran well. I recently got a Matebook X Pro labtop. I am able to run the game on all settings at low, but smoke effects cause me to lag really bad and I see that I am un-able to change that. Should my computer be able to run this game at high and not lag? Its brand new. I would like to not lag every time there is smoke. Thanks!

Your Huwaei laptop comes in two varieties:
NVIDIA® GeForce® MX150
Intel® UHD Graphics 620

Which do you have? I see no reason why the MX150 wouldn't run the game, it seems meaty enough.

MX150 Specs

The UHD 620 OTOH, which is what I suspect you have, isn't good enough.

I have the Matebook X Pro with the MX150. It can run it ok one all low graphics, but since smoke/effects are always on high I lag like crazy whenever there is smoke. Is there some setting I need to enable to make sure the MX150 is always being used or something?

nvidia deliberately cripple the part of the chip thats needed to run smoke effects well, this is a pattern I have observed for alot of even high-end laptops since time began. Its likely done to limit heat dissipation, in turn to prolong the lifespan of the chip, which are prone to going kaput after extended use, even with such precautions in place.

Try disabling power saving features - right click desktop > properties > Screensaver > power > Always on.
Respectively, I would research ways to disable power saving features on whatever variant of windows your using.

This may seem a bit obvious but is your laptop plugged in to AC ? Battery use enacts power saving features by default unless specified to not to.
