Maybe, it was something I was doing in like 2010 or 2011.

We getting any news about the next update anytime soon? It's been 2 months since the last dev blog and there have been peeks at status bars about completion percentages but those have been posted multiple times now.

I searched the topic but found no matches, so asking a question:
- is DEVs have any information about correlation of donation bar with updates releasing?

Your question isn't very descriptive...

If you mean does the amount of donations have any effect on the "development rate" then the answer is no. However if we suddenly found ourselves falling short of our donation target for more than a couple of months or so and where unable to pay for our servers, then the answer would be a massive yes as without our SVN and other servers, we wouldn't be able to develop the mod in the same way as we do now and it would probably shut down any future development for good at this point.

If you mean do we get more donations after or around the time of a new release, the answer to that is obviously yes.

Why is the donation target so high? I mean to host a forum, is it really that intensive, that requirements are that expensive? Considering that computing / storage is becoming cheaper all the time too it's a bit odd I think...

It's not only the website/forums, but also the master server, issue tracking system, backup, server cost etc.

It was higher in the past, but we managed to make things cheaper by upgrading services and moving to cheaper, more competitive providers.

You forgot to mention the SVN server which holds tons of data of every version of every file in the mod, including things like individual object lightmaps for maps etc which aren't included in the game files.

Don’t crucify me but I’ve really been wondering if it’s possible to add in the ability for tail rotors on choppers to be disabled or shot off and then the chopper goes into an immersive tail spin. Is it possible and would any of you guys be interested in the game having that?

We looked into it a long time ago and we didn't find a way to do it, at least not on a networked server, did manage to get it to work for a local game but not on an internet dedicated server.

Which is funny because CIS for 1942 got it to work.

PRSPY showing only one server... ?

Not home, on vacation, don't have PR installed in this laptop, so can't check further.

I really hope there are more active servers.

rPoXoTauJIo wrote:0. For public server you need server placed in datacenter, no home servers.
1.You need fastest singlethreaded CPU you can get.
2. Preferable fastest RAM you can get.
3. SSD would be nice aswell, but optional.
4. 100Mbps network would be enough unless ddosed i guess?
Can't tell you about price but you could ask PRTA or HOG on their server specifications to get an idea.
