Can't enter the game! No errors! Nothing in task manager or event viewer!

So I have updated the game and went to start it, logged on in and selected my profile and the launcher quit after a few seconds. Nothing happened so I checked for anything in task manager and event viewer, nothing, no errors nor was the game showing up (I am using win7 and my avast antivirus and windows defender are turned off). I do not know what to do I have tried reinstalling the game and still, the same problem. I tried restarting my PC, didn't work.
HELP!

Run windowed to get any error message BF2 throws at you.
It'll probably be the one that shows up when your GPU doesn't support 800x600@60, google how to add it to in intel/nvidia drivers

He means it may support your monitor resolution (even thought it is set correctly for your 1366x768@60Hz display) but it does not support the much smaller resolution required by this game for (what I assume is) a basic launch or initial launch display resolution, and that if your monitor cannot support the 800x600@60, it can't get past that and keeps crashing.

Use the link above to ensure your nVidia GFX Card contains the resolution, and add it if it does not.

I'm using a laptop with intel mobile graphics and it does support most resolutions up to 1366x768@60hz. Including 800x600!

Have you launched the game in windowed mode like I asked?

I have tried to do it in the profile files (set the launcher.con file fullscreen=0) and 0 response from the launcher.

Why through the files?
Open launcher. Go to Options. Select your profile. Uncheck fullscreen.

In that case, delete the Project Reality folder in my documents and run as admin.

I have reinstalled the game yesterday night, and I have only now tried to start it after updating. And the good thing is the launcher works!!
But the game doesn't start up, I see it in task manager but it's not moving positions to the top of the memory/CPU usage. I tried to uncheck fullscreen, and it's still not giving me an error. Just sitting there at 28.600k memory doing nothing for over 15 minutes.

Maybe you need to try a full manual uninstall and cleanup? Backup any files you want to refer to or maybe test later.

Manual uninstallation and cleanup is pretty standard for any program:

1. First, you would run the program's uninstaller as normal.
2. Then, you go to any folders leftover by it in documents/APPDATA/Programs Data, and even Programs folders (both of them if you have 64-bit Win) and delete them.
3. Finally, open the Windows Registry by pressing the Windows/Start key and typing RegEdit and pressing Enter - navigate through the following path to remove any entries for the program you are removing:

When you are finished, restart your computer and begin from scratch: download fresh copy of the program. Before running ANY setup/install .exe's, right click on it and select Properties ... Ensure there is no checkbox labeled Unblock -- if there is, check the box next to it and click Apply.

Do this everytime you install a new program to Windows 10. If you are ever presented by a window that prevents installation of trusted software, with seemingly only one button labeled "Cancel", look to the left for a label formatted to look like a URL link with the words "more info" - click that to get the option to "Run Anyway". This is for false-positive blocking of some of the trusted community utilities PC Gamers may use - be sure to verify you are using trusted software and a valid installer, and you should be just as safe as the rest of us.

Also, of course, you should disable any Third Party security software during installation of trusted software. In 5+ years, I've never had to disable Windows Defender for such things, ever. But like most people, I've run into those issues with MalwareBytes, or other antivirus/firewall software(s). Be sure your Windows OS is up to date, too. Re-read any program requirements, and ensure you have any necessary software (.NET Framework base version requirement, etc.)

You just need to keep trying until you find that culprit that is creating your issues. A full cleanup following un-installation would be the place for you to start now.

I already did kinda that without registry cleanup. And I'm using win7, I have also played on this exact laptop about 6 months ago before 1.6 and it was all working just fine!

This happens when a tiny part of your windowed screen goes over the edge of the screen. Happened to me as well. I closed PR, enabled "fullscreen" again and then PR started fine. Mabye that works for you too.

About the invisible ground issue. It happen to me mostly when i started the game multiple times in windowed mode (unchecked Fullscreen).


Change your resolutuion in Windows and than change it back.
