BF2's engine has a particle effect limit, which results in effects not fully displaying when there are too many other effects going on (smoke, explosions, rocket trails, etc). The new Heat of Battle mod seems to have bypassed this somehow. This would be useful for PR. Unless its already implemented in 1.7. Both mods don't mention it in the patch notes, and Heat of Battle uses PR effects.
The bypass works for both the standalone and patch version of the latest Heat of Battle update. So the bypass is contained somewhere in here https://www.mediafire.com/folder/73es2f ... _of_Battle
Does anyone know how he did? Haven't had the time to figure it out yet.

Never really noticed us hitting the effects limits. For 1.7 we only increased the rendering distance so effects work on 1.5km view distance. We are going to reach out to the Heat of Battle devs to ask if they are willing to share
