[AAR] Battle hardened Marines at West City (T&T, 17 Oct 24.00 CET)

Post by Johny_B_Nasty »

So, since the T&T server has rigid (and probably legitimate) rules on when you can create squads (not before 1:30min before start) Outlawz argued that there were a lot of illiterate ppl on the server, since they didn't abide to that rule.

Therefore, I waited for the appropriate time and created the "Literate" squad.

I had there very fine soldiers in the squad (no. 5). Pardon me, camerades, though I don't remember all of your names (RAF35 I do remember), but feel free to jot your comments here.

So, back to the battle.

We started right off with a full CO truck, heading way down, passing the Gas Station, arriving just some 100 meters south of the West City flag.

The truck spurted out its two ammo caches and the squad started constructing a fire base, being slightly sheltered to the north and south by both ridges, open however to its two flanks.

Once constructed, the men dig up two machine gun nests; each covering the north of the two streets in the West City area. Eventually, I laid a tight network of barb wire obstacles in front of the two machine gun nests. In addition, barb wire has been laid on both flanks (East and West).

Now, what might sound like a Super Mario geek construction frenzy, is actually the backbone of our initial strategy. We fortified West City until the USMC team could regroup in the city for further advancing. Or the West City would serve as a backbone of defence for the USMC should the MEC successfully counter strike.

For at least 4/5th of the whole game, "Literate" was holding West City and endured both infantry and mechanised assaults, APCs trying to outflank the our fire base from the West and South. The squad aptly adjusted to the MEC attacks. We basically feared infantry infiltration from East. The enemy however obviously decided not to bother us too much that way.

The MEC were pouring out from the Garden and probably had some fire base North East of Garden. The front lines were eventually drawn along between West and East City as well as Gardens and its East.

My squad attempted to make a bold advancement to the alleged MEC fire base in the North East by manning a Humvee, however, each time a Humvee spawned, MEC accidentally showed up with an APC, shredding our transport into pieces.

We therefore stayed at West City while the MEC slowly pushed us away from our fortified positions towards South East. At that moment, USMC had some 30 points left.

The whole round lasted and lasted... While preparing a counter attack to retake West City, enemy increased its pressure.

But then, the round ended, USMC won with 13 points ahead.

"Literate" was the best squad.

Great work, dudes!

I disconnected after getting headshotted off the RPK74 by some instaproning schmuck while I was trying to suppress the sniper kiddies 500m away on a roof.

I kept telling to my squadmates that they'd be having a very short life expectancy on rooftops in Ejod ;)
