That's okay
![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
.
What I did with Bloody Gulch was remove all statics and GPOs. Then in the editor, still using the old ground colors and lightmaps (so I could see what types of fields there were, where roads were, trees, etc.), I added overgrowth where the FH2 variant had overgrowth, same with undergrowth and roads. When all that was in place, I did a quick repaint with bf2_tpaint. And that's where I am right now.
Same with La Varde, though I filtered all French Hope statics, so only those are on the map. Also removed retextured versions of Tobruk bunkers and what not. I'm using an older version of La Varde, where no FH2 textures were used (I believe in later versions they used way more from FH2). And that's where I am with the map right now. It'll also be repainted and what not.

What I meant was the idea of the map itself, they did "share" that didn't they

Nice! I've been dying to play this again and was disappointed there wasn't any servers running it. Kudos to everyone involved.
I'm a huge WW2 buff, if I had the talent to make maps I would easily contribute my time to the project without question.

Could I help by making a map for the next realease?
Any ideas or requests for the map?
i was thinking of a small one, maybe brecourt, or some close combat urban fighting incorporated?

Well, to make a map takes a ton of work and time. You probably would only get it done in 2 releases (and I'm not including that one). Small is definitely a good idea for a beginner though. Something urban would be nice if there was enough statics.

Do you have any mapping experience in BF2? If not, try to make a vBF2 map first, to get to know the ropes.

Great! It's nice to see my compatriots so eager to contribute lately. I might take the same initiative sometime soon. ; )
Brecourt sounds like a lovely idea.
Brecourt Manor Battle 06/06/1944 (Google Maps) - Virtual Globetrotting
Germans get fortified positions while americans a few armoured toys. It would be faithful to the battle events after all. But I guess you have all of that figured out, there's a lot of info and even a Band of Brothers episode about it.
I would love to see something like this. If deployed mortars can be placed in Overlord, then I'm sure the same thing can be done with HMGs + Trenches combo.

hey thanks
this is my plan for now:
as brecourt is quite a small area i was thinking in incorporating saint Marie du mont that is closeby
here is a plan : Blue is allied main and forces, red is german defences and main
Yellow are flags
green is an idea i had to replicate the difficulties of hedge combat, they would be obstacles for the tanks and infantry
![Image](http://i.imgur.com/l9sga.jpg)
ive also thought of a more urban and smaller map:
what do you guys think?
i apreciate any comments or criticism

It would be hard to make urban map since we don't have alot of housing buildings. But you can give it a try

Try to avoid towns. We don't have the statics to make decent looking towns. A handful of houses close to each other is fine though.
Keep us posted!

I hope one day the FH2 team will just team up with PR
Seriously.

For PR Normandy that would be great, but the thing is that it makes little sense from the FH2 team's perspective, since they wouldn't really get much out of it.

Best to create a new thread for your map, rodrigoma, please do so here:
Community Maps - Project Reality Forums. And make sure it's in line with the guidelines:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f354-c ... w-map.html.
Also, make sure you use the more stable BF2 Editor:

Thanks

@Rodrigoma, what size is that map? What size is that area IRL? Therefore, what scale is it?

Sure, no problem. But people will ask questions about it, you'll post updates as you progress, etc
