yes there are lots of "noobs" in v0.85 just dont be all crappy towards them since just remember, at one point you where also a "noob".

Tell them on VOIP how to do stuff, how they should play, whats the best way to aim and kill some one etc. That way they will become a decent PR player.

1:Lotsa rushing. The common scenario where one guy goes ahead of the others and tries to storm a .50. Squad leader did this too

2.Lack of leadership. The only orders being given are: Get in the truck! Shoot the tank! Attack this position! We're going to stay here and defend!

Compared to: I want you to be a medic, you to be a rifleman, etc. ; Split up into two teams. Team one will supress and team 2 will flank. ; Get back here! Stay with your squad! ; Optical sights in the back, irons in the front ; Specialist, get over here and blast this lock!

3.General stupidity: Squad leaders grabbing APC's and crewmans, the medic saying it's too much work reviveing people, a certain person blasting music into the microphone making it hard to hear squad lead's orders, choppers dropping people off in the wrong place, and lots of other bits of idiocy.

BTW, all this was from three rounds.

The good thing is: Great job devs! I want to personally thank the people responsible for the animation and HUD design. It seems a lot more open and natural now, like it's not a game. One qualm: If you don't want directional arrows on the infantry icons, at least give the player a facing arrow. I walked back to main thinking I was going to a control point.

I noticed that at the start of a new release (usually only the first 2 days) there's a higher teamwork going on then normal.

Probably because all the die hard fans get the release first :p

Last 3-4 games, I've ended up on teams where I went to about 3 different squads and the only guy using his mic was me. The one time I ended up leading, everyone was off doing his own thing and we could hardly get people together to set a rally. But I bet a lot of the vet noobs are just people who are having fun playing with all the new weapons. It'll settle eventually.

i don't use VoIP but does that mean that im a noob?

i don't have a mic, but because i don't have Voip i don't lead squads etc or do activities that you gotta act fast like tank/heli . only things like building etc. but i listen to other squad members.

i always look for tactical squad cause they are fun

+1, if you don't have VOIP go play the good ol crappy nade spamming BF2.

PR is about teamwork and discipline and also fun.

I started playing at .5, and I was a noob. But a lot of people actually started at .5, so we were all noobs. I didn't play much of .6, but since .7 I've been playing quite a lot.

I say give it a week or a month, then all the noobs from BF2 will start hating PR, and they will all be gone, or they will start liking it, and improve.

Well, go have a look on a "busy" pr night and count the people online. I don’t think it is worth to piss every newbie off and wish they'll be gone from the pr community soon.

Sure there will be newbies driving vehicule alone but maybe they would become great teamplayer instead of leaving the pr scene if they heard on their first round: “hey man, here in pr we need to be two to drive an apc because bla blab bla, ho you’re new! No worries and welcome!” instead of hearing “another fuc*ing moron is alone in the apc”. You know what adults (pr target players) do when they hear that?? They normally don’t try to argue, they leave. :d uh:

I'm sorry but I think this community would benefit from the "skilled" players of pr who would give tips and clear "newbie oriented" instructions instead of being arrogant and incendiary.

By the way, stop saying to people “go read the guide”! Man, a newbie going on the pr website who clicks “guide” will be very lucky if he can access ONE page of this guide! Not everybody knows that the pdf guide is part of the pr installation.

There will always be pure ******** (think of hackers first) who only want to mess things up and that are hopeless cases for teamplay in pr, but it’s the same in all games. I would prefer 200 ******** for 10 000 good teamplayers than 20 ******** for 1000 good teamplayers.

:15_cheers

Not necessarily. There are many reasons that someone may not be able to use a mic other than not wanting to communicate with people. For example, if you're playing at midnight and everyone else in the house is asleep, it's kind of difficult to use your mic without waking them up. That being said, mics should be used whenever possible, as they allow you instant communication with the rest of your squad (comes in handy when you have to warn them about the vodnik that's about to run you all over). If you can't use the mic, at least type out comms to your squad when needed.

Until we stop updating your ALL noobs!

I like how this harmless/trash talking word has turned into the main video game process and discussions.
