Again, did you manage to read announcement or did you close both your eyes? Do you think we made manual update for fun?

Hey I have had this Problem since 1.4 and now on 1.4.2 when i join it says Failed to connect Check your connection(s) and try again i have tryed soo many other opitions like turning firewall off anti-virus off and run as admin even reinstalled Punkbuster and other things i really hope you guys can help me.

Alas this is human nature. Mineral is giving patient bear a run for his money at this point I think

1. Close your PR Launcher
2. Download the v1.4.1 patch
3. Right click the file: Run as Administrator
4. It located my PR in the correct folder, and update
5. Run the PR launcher.

Will the devs keep doing manual update for every patch?

The situation is: I like to play online but I also like to play local in our laptops with my friends who isn't familiar with PR. So I kind of need to introduce them to it but they don't have the luxury of internet (yet) and it would be great if I can download patches manually for their client to update so that I still can play coop locals with them and online alone.

PS: We usually share our internet for when we play coop local.

How to install without internetconnection on LAN:
I. Goto download full 1.41 Version Downloads | Project Reality

Its a big 7 Gigabyte file download

II. Download Splitter Software from HJSplit for Windows
use hjssplit Software to split the 7 giga installer into 3 parts


because DVD size is 4 giga only

now there are 3 possibities

1. IF you have portable USB harddisk: Copy the 3 splitted files of the

Project reality installer 1.41 in a portable USB harddisk,

if you can copy the 7 Gigabyte full installer the do it, i could not copy there is alimit of 7 giga for files to copy in some hardisks ( win 7 home 64 bit)

TIP: also copy on usb harddisk: the hjs split Software and the Project reality Manual


2.other possiblity : burn the 3 parts on DVDs

TIP: also burn on DVD the hjs split Software and the Project reality

Manual

3. at the LAN use hjssplit Software from USB portable harddisk or dvd
to copy the parts to the pc to install it

4. Use HJSPLIT to join the 3 parts in to the pr installer ( 7 Gigabyte)
5. install on every PC,



6 if you want to install last update Version you still Need Internet, i found

not other way
current Version ist 1.42,
online you can only Play with 1.42 updated Version

before updating to 1.42 check to have market in Options" Keep update files" so you can copy them to other Computers in the update folder

if someone has more tips or corrections for this guide feel free to add


other tips from other users
If one of the pc's sets up a share, the rest can copy the installer from there. Splitting stuff up isn't needed then. Or simply use a large enough usb stick .

Hmm, I *think* that if you download the individual patches, you can simply run them individually, as they are opened by the updater?

Download & Installation
If you are new to Project Reality, visit the downloads page to download the standalone v1.4.1 installer.

If you have already installed PR:BF2 v1.4, visit the downloads page and download the Manual v1.4 to v1.4.1 Updater and run the executable.

Make sure the PR:BF2 installation path and operating system version(32/64bit) is correct before pressing 'Update'. If the patch was successful it will display 'Done'. Make sure to run it as admin and turn off your anti-virus.

Afterwards v1.4.2 can be automatically downloaded through the PR launcher as usual when you press "PLAY".

If you have already installed PR:BF2 v1.3.9 or a previous release, uninstall PR:BF2 and visit the downloads page to download the standalone v1.4.1 installer.

This was a one time thing of manual update. We didn't want to do it but there was no other way. Next updates will be with auto updater.

[EJE#ES]_Martin just posted the outcome of the new PR 1.4 release on the VG forum. Thankfull I download now with 666KB/s Awesome job! Can`t wait to play.

Coop Local won't load? I've tried on Bamyan (sp?) what a fantastic map on first look yesterday. Also tried Beirut that I've used successfully recently. No dice, PR closes on attempt to load.

Everytime I Click on the Check For Updates And clicking update it saids Unable To Obtain An Update List What Should i Do?

These guys spend their free time on this product for free and still deliver content and service better than most AAA studios and you guys are being hard on them? What is wrong with the world. This is literally candy for free.

I actually had no problems with manual patch. Hell, back in 2009 there were no such thing as launcher/automatic updates and everyone could update their Project Reality and other mods just fine.

Seriously, since when humanity became this dumb that downloading and applying 9MB patch is some kind of woodoo? I am actually satisfied that many idiots who can't manually update their PR client will not be seen anymore on the servers.

Launch Project Reality menu and click on support. In the upper right corner it will tell you what version of the game you have. If you already have v1.4.0 installed, you can just go to the downloads section on this website and download the manual update. It should update to 1.4.1. Afterwards, launch project reality again and check for updates. My current version installed is 1.4.3.
