My first kill (went a little like this!)

Post by MrTomRobs »

Not quite sure if most people will get the 3Oh3 reference, but there we go!

Righty then, I managed to suss out a solution last night for my persistent internet problems last night after getting raaaaaather bored of playing SP, and i realised that, even when i did have a half stable internet connection when i was back in Uni, i never managed to tally my first kill, probably because i couldn't aim for toffee. Last night, i was determined not to go another night without a kill.

So, approximately 1900BST on the NwA#2 server, i begin my quest. The first match was on Silent Eagle but had nearly finished, so i held ground around the silos. No kills. The next match was Jabal Al Burj and i was designated as the medic for a small squad of 4 with no real contacts. No kills.

However - Operation Barracuda. Spawning as Chinese forces, i joined a mumble inf squad from the start as was designated as the medic once again, so i resigned myself to not expecting any kills yet again, but i went about my duties when mine and 2 other squads were defending the airstrip from the americans. I was on runabout, picking up guys that had been blow to bits from the Huey CAS runs, healing up who had to be healed, and spent much of that game in number 1 position, going 2 deaths without a kill, but being a needed squad member, i was happy.

Eventually, we got a little irritated with getting lit up by rockets every 5 minutes or so, and we decided to do something about it. We spawned back at the Chinese main, picked an APC and a logi truck (I was the APC driver) and we drove up to the beach to set up a small AA battery, with the position and the APC trying to cause as much havoc to any enemy helis as we could. So, we get into position and i'm helping my gunner keep an eye out while the FOB gets established, but we only had a couple of men to build, so it was taking time. We decide to jump out, grab our previous kits (So i'm back with a medic kit) and start building. As soon as we've got the AA emplacement up, someone from another squad jumps on it and scares away a huey that looked as if it had been beading us, when we hear rounds snapping at the ground all around us, coming from the beach.

There was a little gully running in front of the FOB, with a tall bank on the other side. We run back to behind the FOB to get some cover, when the inevitable shout of 'Medic!' (in chinese, obviously) rents the air. I look over towards the gully and see my man down, and a silhouette coming over the top of the bank. Then everything slowed down (metaphorically speaking, or i'd have been kicked by punkbuster) and i draw my weapon up. 1 shot - missed! 2nd shot catches him in the leg this time, a hit!

Round number 3 catches him square in the chest, sending a little white puff of smoke up from his torso, and down he goes, and the gunfire subsides as the round ending siren goes off. I come out of my sights, observe the battlefield and tend to my wounded squad mate, now contented that i have passed my rite of passage.

So then people - how many of you remember your first kill?

Oh boy. Can't remember, really. Back in 0.5, kills were a lot more... easy to get. I remember using the lazor-M4, back then, on... EJOD? Was EJOD already in PR? That might've been my first kill. Or that one train station map thingy, I think I might've played there in a very small server in my first online match... A 5vs5 match or something. Got a few kills I believe.

Then I didn't play for a while, jumped back in in 0.6something. I remember lone-wolf-noobing around as insurgent on Al-Basrah. Two highly tacticool brits were taking up positions on two corners of a large container, it all looked very well planned, they probably prepared to cross a street and were giving their squad cover or something. I mowed them down because they failed to see the insurgent with the AK 2 meters in front of them. I kinda felt bad for that.

I remember my first map does that count!? It was on Qwai back in 2007 on the 0.5v release on the tacticalgamer server (miss them). Was on the US team, and bam that's all I remember.

The first map i remeber playing in PR is Silent Eagle, i knew how i didnt know where all those bullets were coming from what direction am I looking in, I couldnt tell friendlies from enemies, etc. However, i believe i once ogt into a situation where i was hidden below a tree and i managed to get a guy who was in the open. Might have been a teamkill though..

Does it count?

I remember I was using AR, 3 guys in server, I killed a dude for 5 times.
Oh! It was PR085 or PR087.

PS: AR was definitely awesome back to old time.

My first Vehicle kill was in Al Basra, insurgent side. Killed a APC with hat(Do miss HAT and C4 Moto.)over 5 of them inside.

I ain't read your post, but if it's a tale/story on how you killed someone in game, then expect this thread to be locked, not moved.

I can't get my head round these mods here. Declining game and forum but they see fit to lock non offensive threads regularly.

Sorry to hijack pal.

First kill was on Archer back in the old days. I killed a guy after spraying a full PKM at him. All at the BLUFOR mainbase, in the old days when you could shoot the hueys of the helipad.

@Rapid: Had you read the thread, you'd have noticed that in fact team members, including myself, have actually participated in the thread. Now you just derailed it with a pointless rant.

Now back to stories.

Well then I'll bring it back to topic!

I can't remember my first kill exactly, but I can remember my first memorable killing spree so that will be the one I tell.

It was on Muttrah City 24/7 I was addicted to the map because for so long I'd wished that I could play a map that was nothing but a massive city so I fell in love with Muttrah, now at the time that I was playing I was a MEC lone-wolf-noob just trying to understand the game and what was going on around me. I heard gunfire near by so I went into an alley to investigate, I walked down to the end of my alley and I spotted a full squad in another alley straight ahead of me, turns out a friendly squad had just engaged them through an opening on their alley. They didn't notice me so in a panic I did the only thing a noob could do, I hid behind a crate. After having a considerable amount of freakout I took a chance, pulled up my rifle sight, popped out and started firing full auto, I was so bad at aiming at the time that I hit most of them just from the amount of random spraying I was putting down then three of them dropped and I ran out of ammo and was promptly killed for bothering them.

I dont remember my first kill but it was definitely on Road to Kyongan'Ni back in 0.65. possibly one of the funnest maps PR had in my opinion back then. there were so many angles you could use to put an objective into play or otherwise lock one out of play.

my first firefight was a hail storm of bullets. the squad i joined decided to move up the side of the mountains in the B column northward, as we were US team, from the previous flag. around B5 we started taking fire from the city where the main bridge was. the side of the mountain was bare so we had little cover, myself and a few others managed to take cover behind a small log. we returned fire and held that position for the next 5 minutes or so. at this point there was at least 2 squads firing on us. at about the 6th minute a squad of chinese charged out from the cover of the city walls for the tree line to it's immediate south west. I poked my head around the log and pegged one on the run and two more that dove behind cover in the trees and returned fire.

the firefight continued for a while longer before 2 friendly squads pushed up the river and forced their way into the city. only myself and one other squad mate made it out unscathed and when i checked the score board i had about 9 kills i think. i dont know at what point i scored the first one but it was surely before they made their run for the trees.

I think I can remember mine. I was told this game is very hard and e.t.c When i started to play it i was camping somewhere and was told to wait for someone to come. And here they come cant remember how many but around a squad of enemy bunched up in one fist. Walking side of road I aimed one of them with my rifle and shot, then buletz blazing around and e.t.c. The map i believe was the one with a city inside middle of the map with desert around it :35_rip:
