PR with custom/overclocked refresh rate?

Hello everyone!
So I am currently deciding whether or not I should get a high refresh rate "gaming" monitor. To help me with my decision I overclocked my 60hz (Asus ve278h) monitor to 74hz. While this is certainly not a huge bump, the difference is still very noticeable, especially when moving the cursor around in Windows.
However, PR doesn't like my ghetto monitor and crashes with this error: (60hz works fine)

Enabling/disabling v-sync and/or fullscreen doesn't help either.
The only workaround so far (besides running the game again at 60hz) is to run it at 1280x1024@75hz because that's an "official" resolution from the monitor.
I also used the search function and found out, that PR only runs on the native refresh rate of the monitor. However, most of the threads I found were from 2011 and older so I was hoping that someone found a solution to this problem in the meantime. Any help is gladly appreciated!
Thanks!
