Jammin' with animations

I've been doing animations for a while now, but never really bothered to learn setting them up for BF2 or exporting them. Had a nice little chat with the Chuc'ster about it and now I should be able to act as his lil' sidekick when/if he needs an extra set of hands.

//awww youtube killed my Bob Marley music :(

**Disclaimer**
There is no jam feature - this animation was a test to feel out the art of weapon animations. Could be used as an idle animation I guess, but the point here is that it was a quick test, nothing more.

I'll throw up some ingame fottage when I sort out my editor. (it is currently giving me hell, as it does from time to time...)

I'm sure you will see a few of my animations in the future, but probably not before late 0.9 or beyond.

See ya guys!

Yeah don't put any known music on YT videos, there's loads of copyright stuff on there just waiting to nerf your video.

Nothing bad, nothing bad at all ! It's really good to know that the team may have one more animator.

thats nice mate, can I ask what Chuc is going on about when he says 3p animations are so hard? you seem to have it down mate ;)

Well, 3p animations are pretty darn hard, even for the mighty Chuc. It is not just a couple of arms and a weapon, but a whole human body that has to act naturally - small mistakes will easily be picked up by the human eye.

Also much of the 3p work would revolve around something like walk cycles, wich are a pain in the *** to get right, even if it is a single step.
However, I will be rigging up a 3p player model for chuc, so that we can work more easily on 3p animations, but it will be a bit into the future for sure.

yea, well I am not completly happy with it yet. Needs better timing, speed and more roughness, but then again it was just a quickie. Looking forward to messing with this some more when I've completed more of my modeling tasks :D
