WHAT!!! chinese beach assaults

a long time ago before i even became an r-con i was working on a proposal of making the PLA Navy Marines.
my contribution to that at the time was inspired by this picture
it is not much to work from, but in cooperation with jonny and a few other guys i began working on getting it into a decent state.
this went pretty good and we got the base design settle.
at the time though i didn't have any uvw skills and so one of the other modellers did that for me.
jump half a year to a year into the future and i was ready to work on my texturing skills. i could already at the time see that the uvw wasn't really what i wanted, i couldn't bake AO onto it, it had huge black spots and was unoptimized as hell (not something i wanted to put into the mod) nevertheless i already had a base texture for it and decided to just work a bit more on it for the practice.
this is what i got (with horrible generated normal maps hehe)
due to comments on other forums and me wanting to increase my skill level, i decided to now make a high poly model of the boat
as you can see it has turned out pretty decent and i just finished making a new game model for it so that it is optimized for the game. now i need to uvw this baby and work on my texturing skills and hopefully, by the next patch that brings new vehicles into the game, this thing will be done and the chinese (or other factions) will not have to use those universal RIBS that dice made for all factions in bf2.
