As mockingbird said, isn't too hard really. The hardest part is judging when to engage the throttle mode so you don't overshoot the carrier or find you've got into a hover too soon and have to spend ages nosing forwardMCI;bt7183 wrote:Oh Yes! Very nice
Now I bet landing on that ship is going to be very tricky...
But with some practice and if you don't try to rush things its all good

Ye, vertical landing is how pretty much all landings on a STOVL carrier done, although there are now and again a few Shipborne Rolling Vertical Landings (SRVL) which is basically the jet landing a bit like a normal plane on a runway, but has its nozzles pointing down but still going at a bit of speed so its wings are crating some lift, which enables it to bring back more weapons/fuel than normal but requires the deck to be clear of all aircraft so the jet can roll to a stop in a few meters, where in a vertical landing only one landing pad needs to be clear, which also enables multiple aircraft to land at the same time.
While it is just about possible to do an SRVL ingame, its a bit tricky as you need to balance your throttle quite a lot to get it right and timing is a bit key factor too.

Well to start off with I haven't edited anything, other than the textures as the ramp + other tweaks are only additional objects, saves having to do a massive amount of fixing, re-modelling and re-exporting but you can edit the BF2 models, providing the edited versions stay in BF2.UKrealplayER666;bt7191 wrote:Woulda thought editing the carrier model breached some form of copyright law no? Other then that i would say this looks pretty sweet, despite the fact i cant, and never will, fly XD

Loving the STOL Sea Harriers, but maybe Rhino should invest some of his coke and hookers fund into a computer that doesn't double up as a toaster oven

If your referring to my sound being crappy ye I've got it on low as I have an XFI card and I haven't bothered going though uninstalling the buggy drivers and installing the new ones as I plan to install the good ones after I format which I plan on doing sometime soonJedimushroom;bt7194 wrote:Loving the STOL Sea Harriers, but maybe Rhino should invest some of his coke and hookers fund into a computer that doesn't double up as a toaster oven

Oh god don't remind me of that mess, I tried desperately to actually make X-Fi work on my prelude for about a week but it still bluescreens on BF2.[R-DEV]Rhino;bt7195 wrote:If your referring to my sound being crappy ye I've got it on low as I have an XFI card and I haven't bothered going though uninstalling the buggy drivers and installing the new ones as I plan to install the good ones after I format which I plan on doing sometime soon
