Need Help!!!

What is some good spyware detection software...apparently my comp is loaded with spyware and is overloading everything i do with popups....i have a pop up blocker but its not help the situation out very well

Other than a direct reformat, I suggset you get Adaware, and Spybot: S&D. They'll remove almost every spyware threat out there. I assume you also have a good reliable antivirus suite, such as Norton Antivirus. Hijack This is also useful for threats which just keep coming back, but you need some technical expertise to know what to delete and what not to. There's some information for some exploits and "hijacks", but most aren't listed in that program.

Also, as far as popup blockers go, delete whatever you're using now and download Proxomitron. It's the best popup killer by far, and you can easily customize it to different levels of protection. Once you've set up Proxomitron, you might want to also get a new browser other than Internet Explorer, if you're not already using something else. My favorite right now is Opera. It's got everything. Tabbed browsing, automatic refreshing, and even mouse gestures (my favorite feature).

Once you've done all that, you're never going to be bugged by ads again, except maybe in the one-in-a-million chance popups get past Proxomitron and the built-in ad removal in Opera.

I don't like Spysweeper or Spywareblaster. I've found that Spybot and Adaware will kill the same things that they find. I just don't bother with the two any more.

My best tip is the one that spangle gave you, get a new browser. I use firefox. That's my personal favorite, got all the same features that spangle mentioned about opera, plus a lot more you can download as extensions if needed
