Mg scopes for long range

Ok this sort of adds to my thread of heavy support kit and was inspired by the talk of adding a scope on to Mg's to make them more appealing in larger maps with larger view distance's!


So basically we will get a m240/ Heavier MG preferably 7.62mm with say a 4x scope, ACOG or what have you, then the brits can get there GPMG with one and so on and so forth! The kit can maybe limited to only 1 kit for every 16 player or how ever the dev's would like to deploy it!

The only problem I see is using it as an AUTO-Sniper so on the scope just give it a huge amount of recoil after the first 2 shots. So then with this "upgrade" the Mg's will be more effective to a good 200m or so, because right now the only really really good rage for MG's is between 25-100m thats in my opinion when they are the most Effective.

So what do u think?

Yeah, adding scopes to support guns will require new models...

Let alone adding an entirely new class of support gun with scopes.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Just do the cheap "SUPER IRON SITE ZOOMM!" Until the models can be done. I think this is a necessary approach with all rifles now being kitted out with sights

Yea it is a bit of farce when your at that just longer then mid ranged kinda combat and your getting outdone by a scoped rifle.

I agree with Ecko though for having a short term solution.

I'd like the shortterm solution, if used, to be a simple 2d graphic of the up coming scope. So the model/skin wouldn't have to be changed...just when you scope it, its a scope reticle and not the lame iron sites.

Yeah, atleast do something so that it's more like real life, where people use heavy mgs for long-range firefights.

Unlocks is a "been suggested a million times" kind of thing. Run a search and see what comes up, I haven't looked into it personally but its been rehashed many times. I would like to see some selectability though, it'd be refreshing and is something that the engine does decently so why not take advantage of it.
