Squad:
Mechanized Infantry
Squad members:
2 Crewmen, 2 Engineers, 1 AR-Support and 1 Grenadier
Assignement:
The assignment for the Mechanized Infantry Squad is to advance just west of West Tower to set up a base of fire for incoming friendly troops. As there is only one main road leading west for West Tower, precaution must be taken by the MECHINF Squad. It is to expect ambushes south and southwest of West Tower. At the APC's marker the squad leader is to order the engineer and AR-support out of the APC to go on foot. Engineer is to flank to the right side of the road followed close by by the AR-support flanking on the left side of the road for cover protection, and the APC behind them on cover. Mines should be neutralized by the engineer and explosive devices should be reported. The APC is to too cover and should take on any enemy units along the road. If enemy unit fire is forceful the APC should move up to the engineer and AR-support so they can take cover behind or on the side of the APC.
Assignement:
When MECHINF reaches to the point west of West Tower, it is to go in to a camp assault. Having two fireteams A and B out of the APC. Fireteam A, AR-support and engineer, should place them selfs just behind the APC to work as cover for enemy units heading for the APC to place explosive devices or mines behind the APC. The AR-support is the main one to take on them and the engineer is to work as cover for the AR-support. Fireteam B, engineer and grenadier is to climb up on the hill on the right side of the road to cover the APC on all directions, but mainly from enemy units coming from West Tower. As more and more friendly troops head on for West Tower the MECHINF is too slowly advancing forward. Cutting the enemy deeper.
Any RPG attack on the APC, should make the MECHINF APC smoke and retreat to a safe area for repair before heading out again. Regrouping the Fireteams so the both engineer enters the APC and leaving the AR-support and the grenadier on surveillance if the situation allows them to be safe operating as two, and if possible take out the RPG-launcher. If the situation allows engineer can repair at the spot. The main designated point for the platoon is to capture West Tower and have the MECHINF reach West Tower when that is done, as the Phase I is accomplished.

Last Word:
The MECHINF have priorety to heavy kits as H-AT and L-AT, although there is no necessary for them to pick them up if enemy BRDM-2 is approaching them, as it's no match for the Britts APC. The grenadier is usfull as it can work as smoke cover both for the APC and the other Fireteam if they come under heavy fire. The Fireteam A can also radio the APC to reatreat if necessary so they can cover behind it or enter it due to heavy enemy fire. This tactic can also be fitted as having 4 crewmen and running two APC's getting an even more forceful strength. Or having another MECHINF Squad either working together or doing two separate things. Or having the second APC camped at base for fast deployment if anything would go wrong.
