Hmm. you got a source on that? I just cant see FDF as a Opposing Force, since Russia is OPFOR(?) And we use pretty much all Nato standards in our military.

I think it was said that only opfor factions will get a sub forum. Blufor's are still allowed just wont get a sub forum

There are many Community Factions in the making. Most of these factions are BLUFOR. Because of all these great BLUFOR factions, the PR Team would like to shift the focus of the Community (Factions) towards OPFOR.

This means, that for now, we will not accept requests for the creation of subforums for BLUFOR factions. OPFOR factions can still apply.

There is an explosion of BLUFOR around here. It's all well and good to have your home country represented, but having a ridiculous variety of NATO nations probably won't help gameplay much at this point. If you really want to start a faction, try figuring out what kind of scenarios can add to PR's gameplay, and what groups would be fighting those scenarios.

We have soooo many L337 BLUFOR's at the moment its getting out of hand. I think that the spirit to create new factions is great, however can you channel your wish to create a faction into some kind of L337 OPFOR instead?

How bout we make complete alternative reality and have some current Blufor countries made into Opfor Well, could be cool to have peacekeepers engage Blufor with story that Blufor was engaging soft targets (civilians), saw some videos where Finnish Peacekeepers were blocking Israelis armored movement with their own armored vehicles.

Yeh, that was due to the Israelis shooting tank shells at civilians :O

yea we just need to spend less time on incorporating community mods and instead developing the MEC, PLA and Russian factions to their full glory. But alas that is not our fate.

Finns only have 2 old Mi-8's that are being finally replaced by the 20+ new NH90s.

Actually the mi-8's are slowly being replaced my the NH90's and if there would be something like war whit russia most of the mi-8's would immediately be called back to active duty

I dont think there even are more than 2 of them in the whole country(EDIT: Apparently there are 4 or so stored somewhere but theyre obsolete and haven't been installed the extension pack) Those things were bought in the 70's(?) and have been installed some sort of service extension pack in 2006 wich will extend their service length to 2012. The last NH90's are supposed to be delivered by 2011-2012. But yes, we still use Mi-8s alot, since theyre just training peoples with the NH90s. But we have to look a little into the future, cos the faction isnt done in a day

Nothing major yet, i just started working on the kit geometries (extremely WIP) and figuring out a way to implement skis to BF2 engine.
