[Vehicle] LCVP Mk5C

Post by ice_killer »

Hey all,

The Royal Dutch Korps Mariniers are coming your way with the LCVP Mk5c NL.

I've been working hard on this model for the Dutch 2nd faction, the LCVP (Landing Craft Vehicle Personel), is a small landing craft that will be launched from a Landing Platform Dock.

It will get 2 x FN MAG 7.62 GPMG's and will hold up to 8 Marines including the driver and gunners.

Anyway lets quit the chatter and show some stuff.

Currently the model is as good as done and UVmapping will start soon

Looks amazing ice_killer. Can't wait to do some strafing with the FN MAGs.

Nice model, but there's something wrong with the normals on the 4th pic.

The doors and landing ramp will be controlled by the pilot? or will be somehow automatic?
only 8 soldier!!! it could carry the whole team haiuehaiuehiaue, it will be nice if you could be free to walk inside it. I think that with the right speed and Collison mesh you can make it.

Landing Crafts will always be a huge part of an Amphibious Assault.

That's a LCU Mk9 which is hardly used these days... The most modern version is the LCU Mk10 which is now used by the RN and RM, which features front and rear loading unlike the LCU Mk9 which only had front loading which proved real problems by causing large delays in the Falklands war (+ others) where everything had to be reversed onto the landing craft.

You see, 3 whole teams inside it hauiehaiuheiaue
It will be so nice walking inside it while moving, 8 soldier stuck insinde is a waste of resources...

What is it top speed? and maneuverability? If you make it stable, low acceleration/steer its possible...

nice, from what I've tested, 40km/h shouldnt make people die, the only problem is the landing. you can add invisible dampers to the front of the boat to reduce the impact, but I'm not sure if it will work.

but the point is, are you willing to make it the main trasnport or just a secondary one?
