Rampant idiocy surge in the past couple days
Basically what the topic reads...
I know I'm pretty new to PR but the last couple of days have been awful...
Situational awareness is almost nil, people react too slow to combat scenarios and there is no tactical approach whatsoever. Fine, I can just chalk that up to people who might be new themselves or just not good players.
Yet there has been a slew of asshattery going on in the past couple of days where I seriously can't get one good game in. This isn't server specific either. I've been on most of the team work orientated servers and it's the same thing (TG, MERK, NWA).
Why? I understand one or two dumbasses joining a game but my recent PR outings have been tainted with just rampant idiocy. TK'ers, Squad members who refuse orders or generally screw up purposely, shooting in main and at friendly vehicles, horse playing, stealing kits, 6-7 squads locked with minimal members and achieving nothing, people (especially SL's) leaving squads to make new squads just so they can do it once again 10 minutes later.
It just gotten so bad that the once cherished moments I have when the wife is gone and I get to put on my PR boots - it's like stepping in a day care center for special children with guns.
Do I have to join a clan just to experience PR the way it's meant to be? Ugh.

I play on a wide variety of servers that are deemed "good servers" within the community and certainly more than I exampled above in my OP.

You hit the nail on the head with that run down - I felt the same 8 out of 10 rounds I played. Most of the playtime has been pretty awful, but the good rounds I had just hooked me - when PR is good, it's really good, better than any other online game I ever played.KaizerSosa81 wrote: It just gotten so bad that the once cherished moments I have when the wife is gone and I get to put on my PR boots - it's like stepping in a day care center for special children with guns.

But that said, I'm often wondering if the people I play with are drunk, stupid, on drugs, or all of the above.

I agree... this is the only game I care for besides Red Orchestra/Darkest Hour. It's funny you mention drunk because last night being Friday night I figured most of these guys were drunk anyway lol.

lol Nothing is wrong with playing drunk... I'd play drunk if given the chance. At least your team focused whether drunk or sober. It's all in good fun.[R-DEV]Rudd wrote:I play best when drunk

It's just the other types that have been ruining the game for me, I had to rant and get it off my chest. So I decided why not on the forums to the PR community.
I did just have a great game on the TAR server though.

Joining a clan (especially an actual decent one, not 1337 milsim clan is best imo) is probably your best bet.
That way, you find a concentrated source of people that want what you want.

join a community, no obligations what so ever, and you can usually find good people to play with
There is only one unforgivable lie That is the lie that says, This is the end, you are the conqueror, you have achieved it and now all that remains is to build walls higher and shelter behind them. Now, the lie says, the world is safe.? The Great Khan.

Check your calendar, it's summer (read: school holidays). It's like that every year.

At least you are not in China.

Generally speaking never play PR mid-day up until about 5.00p.m I tend to find the better games are in the evening when people get home from work and such...
Really guys you all get pissed when playing PR? Don't tend to drink heavily when I'm on my own myself, where's that forever alone pic
And comrade I think that's pretty much the same everywhere, the whole world has it's fair share of idiocy

Re: Rampant idiocy surge in the past couple days
Right I do apologize for my rather dumb post. There are three main factors which are important for a good game in PR.KaizerSosa81 wrote:Really? Suggestions please, would love to see them besides snark remarks.
I play on a wide variety of servers that are deemed "good servers" within the community and certainly more than I exampled above in my OP.
1st The time: Playing in the afternoon usually wont bring you very far. On euro server everything from 5 GMT is good, for the states I guess around 22-23 GMT. Also don't expect finding that good games during the week, try to play more in the weekends.
2nd The server you are playing on: The server is a central factor for a good game, as players which find a good community stick to it too. I can only recommend PRTA and TG (Sisu but its a test server with flaws and Merk doesnt count at all in my book :razz . NwA has gona back fairly much in terms of quality but I'd still say its one of the better servers.
3rd How often you play on a server: You should try to find a "home" server on which you can play daily or with a certain regularity. So people get known to you and vice versa. With this method you get a connection to some individuals who play constantly on the server and together with them you'll have fun even in the worst rounds.
About the clan thing, joining a clan assures sometimes good intra squad gameplay. But if the team fails, you wont be able to achieve much. So, from my personal experience, I wouldn't join a clan but its up to you.
Little side note, since the 128 player server is shifting between vanilla and PR, I have noticed a dramatic increase of "new" players. This could be the cause for your rather bad experience in the past days/weeks.

I think this has gone beyond the past couple of days, and you only just found out

Its the season. Same every year.
@ Brainlag. MeRk server is where I and my clan find the best all around teamplay and have the most intense fights. Cant speak for US-servers, dont play them because I like a low ping =)

Re: Rampant idiocy surge in the past couple days
I've had such a bad experience lately that i've been considering hanging up the PR hat. The only populated teamwork server in Europe (NWA) seems to be permanently full, and that leaves a few others that don't ever use mumble/play properly.
So basically for me joining it's either join a dive server instantly and have a **** non-teamwork round, or spend the best part of 2-20 mins alternating clicks on the NWA server in the list hoping for someone to disconnect.
On the upside, there does seem to be an upsurge in the number of Skirmish maps available with about 14 players in them. Although they are all Kokan. Which you can learn fairly fast.
I'm hoping it is just because it's the summer. Where's PRTA gone though? Used to be that you could go on PRTA after a couple of minutes waiting for someone to leave it and the whole crew were there that you knew. Then you'd have 3 or 4 good rounds before bed-time. Have you all p/w protected and left me in the cold or something?

Dunno half of the community is too lazy to seed, the other half gets bored after 1 hour. Just in need of some patient seeders .Mikemonster wrote:.....
