Although i don't prefer it, I'm not really against it, if you know what i mean. So yeah, It's a possibility.

Hmm... I can't decide which texture to use :S

1. = Full vest. Image
2. = Harness. Image
3. = Neither, nothing. Image

All of those options are in use irl, full vests are for the semi better trained units, Harnesses for most of the regulars and then Neither for the left of the reservists. They also mix and match all of those.

but im worried about snow camo ... better get a woodland camo cause snow doesnt work well on Bf2 without a lot of reskins (buildings,trees,vehicles and lots of more stuff that would be necessary to reskin)

I will texture the M05 woodland camo also. And i really want a good snow map :P Shouldn't be too hard for me to model / texture a few snowy trees and make a couple new snow textures for map editor. Plus I'm also thinking about buying some semi-good mic and record some snow sounds, like: snow crunching under shoes, snow crunching under car tires etc etc.

Edit: And the snow map that Rhino did last christmas was actually pretty good :P

Doesn't the Norwegian comfac have a snow map WiP?

I had thought about Op. Snowstorm. Perhaps, if you get things going, you could ask Rhino for the use of it? If he doesn't have any other plans for it of course, which he may well do.

I will use a new full vest texture for the M05 woodland camo. For the snow camo i think im going to go with 3. because the whole point of it is to blend in the snowy environment and that woodland full vest kinda ruins it :P

And a question.. what the hell is the helmet texture on this mess? :O

upply Unwrap modifier on helmet and see where UV lies in UV editor

Got this idea for a cool OPFOR Finland from Pelitutka forums (credit to: Melooniturpa, oh8gnz and splatteri)
So, Finns for some reason get overrun by the invader and start a guerrilla war. Basically this would mean a heavily armed and highly mobile (skis for every finn) insurgent / guerrilla faction "finsurgents" or something like that. With objectives like destroy bridges, supply depots, communication links and other key targets. Finns would have weapons caches and for each destroyed one, Finns lose X amount of tickets. To gain tickets, Finns would have to destroy key targets i mentioned earlier.
This would ofcourse be alongside the FDF faction, which could have story / day based maps like the ones Russia / Chechens had. At start it is FDF vs. Russia and then the second map could be the finsurgents map. Whatd' ya think? :P

How hard is it to get a faction to PR from vBF2? What i mean is that if i get this faction ingame to vBF2, how hard is it to get it to PR? Asking cuz I'm using the DICE made vBF2 US soldier models and kits.

if you are trying to make a faction for PR, than you should mod it right into it and not vbf2.

and of course vbf2 soldiers + kits reskined are the base for almost all community factions. of course you can make custom kit geometries but that doesnt change the gameplay of the faction, only it looks. so a weapon or vehicle might be more important that custom kit geometries.

I'm having some difficulties finding the PR atlas image where i can change the factions flag(?)

EDIT: I can only find the vBF2 MemeAtlas_020.dds but i have no idea where to find the PR one. Only files in the menu_server.zip -> Atlas are AtlasList.con, MemeAtlasExclude.lst, PR_MemeAtlas.tac and PR_MemeAtlas.tai.

Argh.. Is it even neccessary to mod the Atlas image in order to get a new faction flag in game?

Cool, but will it be done before we move on to another engine?

What I've done:

- I have copied the factions_ru.zip from BF2 -> mods -> pr -> inits and renamed it factions_fdf.zip

- I renamed
- ru.con to fdf.con
- ru_sp_variant3.con to fdf_sp_variant3.con
- ru_team1.con to fdf_team1.con
- ru_team1_vehicles.con to fdf_team1_vehicles.con
- ru_vehicles.con to fdf_vehicles.con
- from all 4 of these .con files i changed the russian player models to us_light_soldier
- spawners_ru.con to spawners_fdf.con
- spawners_ru_sp.con to spawners_fdf_sp.con

- from BF2 -> mods -> pr -> levels -> kozelsk -> server.zip -> Init_sp.con i changed run ../../factions_ru/ru_sp_variant3.con to run ../../factions_fdf/fdf_sp_variant3.con

- from BF2 -> mods -> pr -> levels -> kozelsk -> server.zip -> Init.con i changed run ../../factions_ru/ru.con to run ../../factions_fdf/fdf.con

- to BF2 -> mods -> pr -> objects -> kits_client.zip -> kits i created a new folder named fdf
- copied everything from "ru" to fdf folder

- to BF2 -> mods -> pr -> objects -> kits_server.zip -> kits i created a new folder named fdf
- copied everything from "ru" to fdf folder

- to BF2 -> mods -> pr -> objects -> soldier_client.zip -> soldiers i created a new folder named pr_fdf
- copied everything from "pr_ru" to pr_fdf folder
- copied "Meshes" and "Textures" from BF2 -> mods -> bf2 -> objects_client.zip to pr_fdf folder

- to BF2 -> mods -> pr -> objects -> soldier_server.zip -> soldiers i created a new folder named pr_fdf
- copied everything from "pr_ru" to pr_fdf folder
- copied us_light_soldier.con, us_light_soldier.tweak, us_heavy_soldier.con and US_HEAVY SOLDIER.tweak from BF2 -> mods -> bf2 -> objects_server.zip to pr_fdf folder

Now, I start pr.exe and login on my offline account. Click CO-OPERATIVE -> CREATE LOCAL and choose Kozelsk map. map loads up to about 25-40% and crashes to desktop.
What am i doing wrong / not doing? Thanks.

run game in windowed mode, it will give you error message instead of plain CTD most of the time

How can i run PR in windowed more :S Alt + Enter doesnt work and i cant find a "windowed mode" option anywhere.
