Re: Ask the (WW2-DEVS) a question ?
Since alot of people have been asking for updates/progress on ww2 I thought I'd give you a sneak peek on what I'm currently working on.
I hereby present, Reichswald!
This map is loosely based on the battle of the Reichswald/Operation Veritable/Operation Grenade.
It's a 1km AAS map, which will include heavy ground vehicles for both sides.
AAS Std will be a neutral/symmetrical layer where both sides will be in position to attack.
AAS Alt will be a defensive layer for Germany, where the objective for the US will be to push through the forest from the south, finally capping the village in the north.
Keep in mind all pics are WIP.

Re: Ask the (WW2-DEVS) a question ?
Hey PRww2 Devs, what I'll ask might sound silly because it very well might be but.. can you release screenshots of how every soldier looks with every kit available? From video on youtube it seems that there are already a good variety.
For example, I saw soldiers with the mg42 with ammo belts around him, etc. Or they're al basicaly these tree models?
I ask this because maybe I've saw some german soldier with some kind of cap or whatnot.
And.. I know this might probably already have been asked but.. What keeps this minimod from being released to the PR mod as we know it? I know you guys want to put more things but the game seems fun enough to be avaible, not?
All in all, thanks for you work!

The plan has always been to include it in the main game when it is polished enough.tvaxquivax wrote:I know this might probably already have been asked but.. Re: Ask the (WW2-DEVS) a question ?
Those are simply player models and we added a helmet on them - just for the render. So you have these player models, but the kit decides what he's actually wearing: helmet, cap, back pack, ammo belts, pouches, etc.tvaxquivax wrote:Hey PRww2 Devs, what I'll ask might sound silly because it very well might be but.. can you release screenshots of how every soldier looks with every kit available? you said a really good point. I think it is fun enough to be released and what makes it stop is a unknown.tvaxquivax wrote:Hey PRww2 Devs, what I'll ask might sound silly because it very well might be but.. can you release screenshots of how every soldier looks with every kit available? don't say it is for polishing. come on, even 2 years ago it was acceptable and releasable.

Re: Ask the (WW2-DEVS) a question ?
Looks awesome, but I have a few wishes:'[R-DEV wrote:Ason;2161863']
1. Move trenches from the road.(cuz that will be very easy to attack this trenches from a forest, their whole meaning is losting)
2. Add more trenches, bunkers and other fortifications around a village.

No, I suffer from lack of grey matter, also PR is too sunny!Rabbit wrote:You love grey in your maps Ason, you okay?
Yeah, Reichswald/operation Veritable was Britain/Canada, but Grenade was US and it was right next to it, so yeah loosely based on Reichswaldsolidfire93 wrote:btw Reichswald was UK&Canada VS the Germans ?!

Will definately add more trenches and defensive positions, but this is the basic idea:CaptMiller wrote:Looks awesome, but I have a few wishes:

-Red is the frontline.
-Blue lines represents current trenches/defenses on the map.
-Green arrow = US Attack.
The idea is the germans want to defend the village and the big road going through the forest from south to north, therefore they put the defenses a bit west of the road and the village. But yeah, for gameplay reasons I will add more defenses, especially around the village.

Re: Ask the (WW2-DEVS) a question ?
Anyway suggest you move out trenches from main road(as i showed it on screenshot), cuz americans can flank from south if southern trenches will be empty
need some field between forest(and road) and trenches, cuz attacking forces can really easily attack trenches came out from forest and after capture all threnches

Re: Ask the (WW2-DEVS) a question ?
Hmm. I thought frontline is from "west to east", not from "north to south". In this layout trenches are really useless. I mean I know this is how this looks in real life, but in game this wont work like this.
I see two solutions. Make map bigger where every trenches are located in the middle way from each spawn zones (for ALT Germans have additional spawns near trenches) or just relocate trenches locations for current map. I really like idea of big forest so I hope this won't be changed.

It is already impossible to change size of map, Do not need to give such advices, they mislead the mapper
